probably :)

too bad the virus VST can't be cracked, as far as I know anyway... I'm not sure it's worth 400$ with all the amazing VSTs you can get nowadays without a DSP card

I'm hesitating, I'd like to get 2 X CDJ-800 and a DJM-800, but also I'd like a TC Powercore.

Don't know what I'll get first and when, though..

I've been in my new appartment for 7 months and still didn't build myself some mixing setup, too busy with school... That's why I think someone could probably make a better use of these tables and CDJs for now.

Hey guys,

I'm considering selling my SL-1200s and CDJ-100s as I'm saving for more expensive gear and don't really use them much anymore as I focus on production.

I'd like to know the current money you guys think I could make selling them. Of course, don't suggest ridiculous low amounts as I'm not trying to get rid of them fast, just really would like to know their value before considering the move.

I know I can use Kijiji as a reference for their going price, but I thought I could describe them a bit here to have a better idea.

The CDJ-100s are old, I have 2 of them, they still work perfect but the jog wheel on one of them does not feel exactly like new. It however isn't because of beer in it or other stuff nasty gooey stuff, they're just old.

The SL-1200s are very old but work perfectly. Pitch on them is also not perfect but that's pretty standard for used SLs as far as I know, and could be fixed for cheap at Moog, etc. I think the lights on them are still working (not 100% sure lolz) and they have metal covers so they still have this shiny silver look even if they're old. I think I don't have the cartridges for them (!), or I currently have 0 idea where they are, but that wouldn't really matter for someone using Concordes or stuff like that.

I could probably throw in my Gemini 626 mixer for free too...

So how much you guys think I could get for these?

Just like with several EDM genres, Hardstyle's popularity level is completely different from one city/country to another, and here in Montreal I guess the main issue is that it hasn't received enough support from DJs/promoters. Don't start thinking the opinions about hardstyle in this thread are widespread. If people on this forum were a representative sample, rooms wouldn't get crowded for happy hardcore sets.

Ravedave is a great hardstyle DJ and has a lot of fans which tells us there is definitely some potential, and maybe you should consider DJing if you would like to promote the sound as well.

My knowledge of hardstyle is really limited, but I think Toneshifterz and Bioweapon are really good!

actually plastic portal was another producer he made some tracks and DJed with.. but tilzs was always the most popular of the two

you can get a bunch of tilzs mixes here : [ www.sonicfury.net ]

freeform is still alive, a lot of great producers, some newer, some old school (like kevin energy) are making great tracks and the style is still evolving, but it's sadly a very niche genre and you don't hear much of it outside of the UK.

it was very popular here in Montreal back when Tilzs and Tyrant were active, today though it seems out of fashion :(

no but really there are at least a thousand students graduating in graphic design yearly in montreal alone, the saturation isn't really surprising

well done man, it's pretty good.

if I could maybe suggest two thing, use better quality samples and polish the mixdown a bit, i.e. the snare is kinda lame and loud.. can maybe add some distortion to your synths. my knowledge of psytrance is pretty limited tho

could also add a percussion loop to fill things up a bit, and use different hihat sequences to keep things interesting

meh. didn't touch cubase in a few days, and finally yesterday I decided to put the headphones on. made a stomper in a few hours! seems easier to go nuts and be creative when not constantly worrying about people around.

it sounds like shit outside of the headphones, but I guess I'll do the engineering on the A7 in the daytime, hopefully fairly quickly..

but yeah better headphones wouldn't hurt, thanks for the crapload of suggestions, now I don't know where to start. :P

Haha I kind of agree, but damn, I pay the rent to these neighbors :P

it's a duplex building, peaceful area... but yeah there has to be some possible compromise. I guess it's mostly these evenings when I lost track of time and ended up working on a mix at 10pm that pissed them off!
