Somehow, I feel like we need more Hardstyle music in raves. Anyone else thinks the same thing? Sometimes, it's just too soft for me =P
I'm feeling hyped right now.. |

everything else is too soft? Isn't hardstyle just wuss-ified hardcore? Instead of making trance with 'standard' trance drums and synths, they make it with distorted kicks and hardcore synths.. but it's still like 130-140bpm?
I'm feeling like a drama magnet right now.. |

IMO we need less djs fails at raves. Less DJs who can't beat-match, Less DJs with poor track selection, Less DJs who get too fucked up to figure out that they play like shit when they get too fucked up. If the DJ is talented, and puts together a solid set, Im usually happy regardless of what the music is - dub, dnb, hard-tek, hardcore, tek, house, trance, breaks, wutevs. If its good shit, just enjoy it.
And honestly, 1 set of pure hardstyle at a rave is usually more than enough. Originally Posted By SCREWHEAD

Just like with several EDM genres, Hardstyle's popularity level is completely different from one city/country to another, and here in Montreal I guess the main issue is that it hasn't received enough support from DJs/promoters. Don't start thinking the opinions about hardstyle in this thread are widespread. If people on this forum were a representative sample, rooms wouldn't get crowded for happy hardcore sets.
Ravedave is a great hardstyle DJ and has a lot of fans which tells us there is definitely some potential, and maybe you should consider DJing if you would like to promote the sound as well. My knowledge of hardstyle is really limited, but I think Toneshifterz and Bioweapon are really good! |
