Hey guys,

I'm considering selling my SL-1200s and CDJ-100s as I'm saving for more expensive gear and don't really use them much anymore as I focus on production.

I'd like to know the current money you guys think I could make selling them. Of course, don't suggest ridiculous low amounts as I'm not trying to get rid of them fast, just really would like to know their value before considering the move.

I know I can use Kijiji as a reference for their going price, but I thought I could describe them a bit here to have a better idea.

The CDJ-100s are old, I have 2 of them, they still work perfect but the jog wheel on one of them does not feel exactly like new. It however isn't because of beer in it or other stuff nasty gooey stuff, they're just old.

The SL-1200s are very old but work perfectly. Pitch on them is also not perfect but that's pretty standard for used SLs as far as I know, and could be fixed for cheap at Moog, etc. I think the lights on them are still working (not 100% sure lolz) and they have metal covers so they still have this shiny silver look even if they're old. I think I don't have the cartridges for them (!), or I currently have 0 idea where they are, but that wouldn't really matter for someone using Concordes or stuff like that.

I could probably throw in my Gemini 626 mixer for free too...

So how much you guys think I could get for these?

the 100's, you can probably get about 100$ for each.. the tech's, should be at most 400$ each !!

good luck sellin em, but then again, why sell for better gear if you focus more on production ?? he he
I'm feeling the other side right now..

I'm hesitating, I'd like to get 2 X CDJ-800 and a DJM-800, but also I'd like a TC Powercore.

Don't know what I'll get first and when, though..

I've been in my new appartment for 7 months and still didn't build myself some mixing setup, too busy with school... That's why I think someone could probably make a better use of these tables and CDJs for now.

probably :)

too bad the virus VST can't be cracked, as far as I know anyway... I'm not sure it's worth 400$ with all the amazing VSTs you can get nowadays without a DSP card

Yeah I know, but they look like some serious old generation powercore, don't know if I could get all the updates for them and the Virus..

Maybe I'm crazy but i find that DSP based system sounds different (a bit sharper) than native based systems. Am I wrong?

That's not related to being DSP based in any way. It's just that most plugins for DSP based systems are really top of the line. Sonnox, TC and UAD are the best...

If I can make my huge trance leads even bigger, I'll be pretty happy. Is there any Powercore distortion unit?

Look further than that: Compare, let's say, the summing engine of any RME's TotalMix system vs regular DAWs. Sounds way more defined than the summing in any Native DAW (Logic, Samplitude, Ableton, Cubase/Nuendo, etc, etc). Same goes with Pro-Tools LE vs Pro-Tool TDM or Pro-Tools HD (Always hated pro-tools summing anyways, but that's an other story).

Well after some strong reflexion I might use the money for a TI Snow or a used Virus C before getting new decks!!

Following you guys' advice I'll let the turntables go for 600$ (pair), and the CDJs I might try and sell them for more than 100$ (each), but out of this site :)
Let me know if you would like to buy them tho.

Also the old Gemini mixer could go for pennies, literally. It has been my good friend for a while, but even though it's really old my mixes sound really good, and I could sell it for 50$ or so.
