Toronto is the business centre, Montreal is the cultural centre. They get bigger concerts, we get bigger festivals. And our women? International phenomenon. |

Montreal is also a big big place for minimal now. I was talking to some German producers and they were very impressed with the minimal scene here, it's pretty known. |

Of course TO does drugs! And they're DnB scene is like a bunch of pitbulls without leashes. But it's like that because it's successful. They are where we were in 1999/2000 where 514 was dropping massive 10,000+ person parties and everyone was on everything. Like any civilization, it is indulgence that leads to destruction. We can't change it, we can only adapt to it. The TO parties I went ot this weekend were full of drugs in quantities I'm not even remotely familliar with. I'm really glad it isn't a Vinyla Syndicate scene here. I wouldn't have moved here from the TDot if it was. The montreal scene is like the more spititual rasta-zen crew and I'm proud to work within it. I would rather fail and starve in Montreal than find all the success of my dreams in Toronto. You're dead on with a lot of your comments, but I can honestly say I wish our DnB/jungle scene was a fraction of what Tdot has. Or even if it was like our scene here back in 2000/2001. I don't. Yea they're lucky to get all the big names they get but they have a crowd for it but that crowd is just wrong. I have never seen a more rude group of people in my life. Going to a party to see your fav DnB headlining but spending the night being terrorized by a group of 19 year old stuck up jib heads is not worth it. Like @trix said "I would rather fail and starve in Montreal than find all the success of my dreams in Toronto." It aint worth it. |

I've never had a problem at a Tdot jungle party, and I go down there 3-4 times a year. Everyone is always friendly to me... I even had some guy randomly chat me up for like 20 mins and drop a sweet freestyle during Roni Size's set last time I was there.
I'll admit I'm mad jaded. I never did the drug thing, so all my parties are sober. I got really sick of all the candy kids and e-tards in Montreal. I party for the music and all these kids partying for the drugs make me sick to my stomach. |

how is that a good thing? i started raving when i was 17, i would have been hella pissed if some douchebag wouldn't let me enjoy the culture until i was of legal drinking age.
i think raves mostly appeal to kids. |

I think montreal has more e-tards and t.dot has more gib tards, from what I hear/know. |

i started raving at 16, so i see your point of view. the problem is, in my opinion at least, wayyyyy too many kids are getting in to raving at 15/16 years old only for the drugs. |

I started at 16 also but I never took E/speed/yatta yatta. Got into it for the music. Still go for the music although it doesn't impress me like it used to. |

I think the scene now is very different from what it was when we were 16. I used to love the Cloud parties. Even Cloud 4 and 5. But at Cloud 6, I couldn't even stick around for more than 2 hours. |
