wow....good for u guys man. I am a graphic artist as well - but I dont like working full time in that...Im not passionate enough about it - but its fun to do once in a while:) I have little contracts here and there...enough for me:)
I think I might keep the mac...my bf convinced me...hehehe
Anyways - I have seen soooo many debates on what is better mac or pc...it never ends....

yes dj neoform is right - as most jobs I have had required mac knowledge and most adds u see for designer jobs ask for mac knowledge...its awesome main reason being u can have a million programs open at once. When I worked on my pc - having illustrator/photoshop/premiere/and flash open at once killed my comp...it went extremely slow...also compressing files takes a million yrs - but on a mac..much faster. It is THEE computer for the media industry.

I had all kinds of virus protectors/firewall protectors and still got massively infected. It was an ok computer but nothing compared to the mac I have.
ANyways I like both systems for different reasons so I cant really argue with anyone on this.
moondance- yes I spent a lot on my PC but I bought it 5 years ago before they were so insanely cheap - also I got it for school with top notch hardware for video editing/etc - costs more...I ended up having to buy 2 mother boards after that because spyware infected them...even though I was protected and reformatted a few times.
Its a crazy world out there!
I dont regret switching to mac and trying it out - its great...I do regret spending a large amount of money on it though...

I have worked on pc all my life and when I got a mac it was a miracle!! lol
Its fast/smooth/Im able to work much faster with video than I was with a pc.
However I want to switch back to pc because I am no longer working so much on the graphics these days - not enough to use this powerful a machine.
Its more a question of what you are comfortable with. I know shit about hardware - I am more a software nerd. And I hated having to reformat every 6 months and upgrade on my pc - have it overheat and so on..I ended up spending about 4000$ within 4 years on my pc - when I spent that much on the mac that is supposed to last me the next 4 yrs.
I also think pcs are for the nerds who like building their comps and macs are for the lazy ones who dont;) like me hehehe.
I want something simple for now - a laptop where I can still capture video and burn it onto dvd ...shitty thing is I cant even do that on my mac because it doesnt support analog which is what I have!! I need to buy a capture box or something...

I just want to get rid of this thing LOL

then why do macs last so much longer and pcs need to be constantly upgraded? thats what confuses me...
I havent turned my mac off since I bought it and it still runs like a dream...I could never do that with a pc..?

I ordered my mac off the apple website when it just came out - but I upgraded it to a more advanced model - not the main one they were selling - hence it came to $3400 at the time.
Specs are right - copied/pasted them from my mac.

really? but I got it when it just came out this july...
I got the newest mac - didnt wanna get something old...so its really 1.5 yrs old? thats odd considering the apple site usually keeps the latest machines on their site and deletes the old ones...
A friend of mine bought the pro for 3400....ehe its worth the price but makes sense that its 1000 costing more than mine and mine is almost new...

Murdock - I would keep it but need the money...:/

ehm ravewave became a looot like myspace in the past few years. Lots of random people messaged me in the past to be friends and I Dont mind but I dont really take it seriously...I am not really into the scene these days anymore - and have nothing against what people want...
myspace is the same thing - djs on here have their profiles - with reviews/party listings..whats the diff between that and a band or a dj having a myspace profile with their music/profile? and people commenting?
myspace also has event listings and message boards and chat...same thing as this..
and this is how bored i am at work arguing about something so stupid...lol

anyone who bashes myspace and has a profile on here is kinda being hypocritical...like I said before it is good for finding old friends - discovering kick ass rock bands..if u wanna...
if u dont like myspace then who cares - let people do what they want. [ Rave.ca ] is practically the same thing - some people have extremely tacky profiles on here with ugly colors/ model and take pics of themselves to be cool - there is even a DATING SECTION NOW!!! and so on....its all pathetic and desperate. So whatever. :)
