I live in Japan so I've been able to verify things for myself and this is what I found.


1. First of all................... End of production announced on the Panasonic Japan website:

4. Announcement by Power dj's, a huge retailer in Japan:



They are announcing their final sale of SL1200's. Power dj's (Ikebukuro) say they have received an official notice from Panasonic. They are not the only ones... They seem pretty upset about the whole thing... They discuss this announcement on their blog and twitter account (scroll down to October first).

5. Panasonic Osaka is one hour from where I live. So I called Pan. Corp. DAV headquarters in Osaka to confirm the information.

I was told: mention of this was made in the ordinary meeting of Shareholders in May 2010. Reasons cited: integration and closure of specific manufacturing sites, from the point of view of optimal production, withdrawal from unprofitable businesses, downsizing of the workforce.


6. Sumiya music store, another huge retailer:

"テクニクスがSLシリーズのターンテーブル生産終了するそうです"
"Production of the Technics SL series of turntables has ended."

etc. etc etc.

It's true though.

Not a prank, announced by the folks at Panasonic themselves.

Just a minute, firing up Vegas Pro, I have an idea but I just want to confirm if it'll actually work

All right

You will have to trim the video and cut +- .4 secs so your layers will both be in sync.

Place the pointer on top of your video layer, right click, this will open up a menu. Choose open in trimmer.

Now you have your video in the trimmer. Select the whole thing minus +- .4 at the beginning and drag it down in your video track.

This is your new video layer :)

1. INTOCCABILE - COMING OF AGE EP

The artist “comes of age” only through the dreadfully painful realization that, whatever unsubstantial and mediocre “life option” he chooses to consider or actualize, he will never be anything else than an artist. As you all know, people are getting sacked left, right and center.

How have people's lives here been affected by the recent massive layoffs ?

Great contributions, everyone.

Whitelight, you ask a very simple question, yet this question might prove to be the most essential one : what does underground really stand for, what is the meaning of the term underground ? I believe that, in a conversation such as the one we're all having, the meaning of the term underground shouldn't be taken for granted. It's very important to make that extra effort to clarify the notion.

You ask : is there a limit to what we call underground ? This is a very pertinent question. Indeed, what is the extension of that notion ? What genres could be subsumed under it ?

I for one believe that it is possible to use " underground " as a stylistic concept. Underground can be used to denote a " style " ( not a " genre " ) of music. Underground, as a style of music, can be defined in syntactic, morphologic, semantic and pragmatic terms.

I for one certainly don't like to rigidly oppose underground to mainstream. I think that even though mainstream and underground are distinct notions there is some degree of fluidity between them.

I think that our collective use of the term underground, today, is quite problematic and that we should take the time to reflect on the validity of the notion in order to determine if our use of the term is justified.

Comment décrire ce style de jeu...

C'est un peu comme un " livre dont vous êtres le héros ", mais avec des éléments audio-visuels très soignés. Côté production, il n'y a rien à dire, c'est un titre AAA. Beaucoup de texte ! Et c'est en japonais ! ^_^ Je n'étais pas vraiment convaincu au départ... mais je me suis fait agréablement surprendre tant par les valeurs de production que par les thèmes abordés, qui sont assez sombres ( plusieurs moments " WTF !!! " ). Excellent script.

Le jeu n'a pas encore été localisé et franchement, ça m'étonnerait qu'il le soit !

But to answer your question, AlienZeD, my favorite on Wii right now would have to be Chun Soft's Imabikisō Kaimei Hen ( import only ).

" The storyline of Imabikisou revolves around a drug called "Vision" which seems to be responsible for a string of mysterious deaths. The game's main character and heroine, attempting to flee the curse of the drug, travel to a mansion that is believed to be the source of all the problems. His sound... it's exactly what I was waiting for. No silliness : deep, dark, often surprising.

The amount of unbelievable new cuts that are going to be dropped on the 6th of February is nothing short of amazing. New dubstep pieces from Black sun empire, Isotone, Kryptic minds, Toasty, and many others. I've spent a few months gathering the best material, so watch out ! Really, I've crafted a set for the heads, for those who like their sets deep, dark, techy and heavy.

Live Grime set for me ^_^ with heavy minimal dubstep influences ( ie 2562, Martyn, Headhunter ).

Also watching Ginga Eiyû densetsu ( legend of the galactic heroes ). Quite old ( 1988 ) but brilliant dialog and interesting characters. It seems to me that this particular series has inspired the creators of Gundam seed + destiny ( ie the recurring opposition of a unified government and independant states ).
