Seriously, the same thing happened to me and I wish you the best of luck, may he realize, and the sooner the better, the worth of your past relationship.

Sometimes, looking around and seeing other people for a while is the best way to make you realize the worth of what you HAD.

But when you realize that what you had was the best thing for you, it's too late.

If you wait for him to fix up, then maybe, having realized what he has lost will make the whole relationship better.

On the other hand, maybe the thought of him and your " friend " ( with friends like these... ) will make things unbearable... I don't know.

You might be too good for him.

I don't know him, but still, I think that, being a MALE, he might just be trying to play his cards right.

He's saying to you that the girl he is currently dating is not attractive ( then why was he attracted to her in the first place ? ), that he doesn't think it can work out, that he doesn't love her, etc.

He might be trying to " keep you around " just in case his thing with the other girl flops ? Saying all those things so you won't go away thinking everything is over between you two and find someone else... I don't know but it just sounds like it.

Can you really believe what a guy trying to take advantage of such a situation says ??? He " promised " that she could never be his kind of girl ??? What is actually happening between those two might be different from what he is saying to you.

Ah geez, I DON'T KNOW...!

Anyone else have the same impression as me ?

If he really wants to get back with you, he'll have A LOT to prove.

It seems he means a lot to you and I'm all for giving people a second chance ( and not a third ) but don't let him play with your feelings and make you a fool.

YES... being love crazy... to the point your friends and your parents don't recognize you... that's a SERIOUS " disease "

but in this day and age, saying you'd do anything for someone you love is like saying " please take advantage of me "... Before saying something like that, make sure it's a two way thing, that's what I believe

and waiting...... never, EVER again =(

GRIME.

The most exciting sound to come out of the U.K. underground in recent years.

Raw, dark and menacing, futuristic yet strangely primitive...

Finally...

The FIRST canadian GRIME album...

15 Grime anthems.

No compromises. No foolin around, this is the real deal.

Tuneage so dark and upfront you know it's... GRIME RELATED

Not only will I NOT look at / listen to your tunes if you send me a myspace link, but in my eyes you'll also have done PERMANENT DAMAGE to your reputation and worth as an artist if that's how you choose to promote yourself.

...

Of course, you can personalize / customize your myspace page, put pretty pictures and stuff so your myspace looks " different ", so to speak, than the other myspace pages, but it seems the same underlying format is used on all pages, with the player on the right, picture of myspacer on the left with info ( name, country, etc. ), general info if you scroll a bit down, and then comments by " friends ". It just doesn't seem really idiosyncratic to me.

And I find the idea of making " friends " you know nothing about ( " add me ! " ), frantically looking for more " friends " you'll know nothing about, competing for the highest number of " friends," leaving shallow messages to friends who will drag you into " groups " and make you waste even more of your precious time... I don't know... strange ? But that's just me.

Myspace might just be another word for desperation.

Well, as you know, like with every new technology on the market... cd burners, plasma tv's, HDTV's... the competition between manufacturers will make the price go down. Well, that's if the big manufacturers take notice of this new interface and decide to put the time and ressources needed in R&D.

I hope they realize people are somewhat curious about this new interface and that they will have the balls to release a highly functionnal, relatively cheap and compact version of what we've seen.

* crosses fingers *

Like I said, give them a few years...

For people into music production and visual arts, this looks really promising.

Hell, that was long ^_^ I hope you can read french.

Numéro de dossier du règlement : 1041203110

R.R.V.M. c. P-1

Initiale; [99-102, a. 44.]

So basically, this article of the civil code ( ie peace and order in the public domain ) states clearly that if you are standing on the public domain and trying to obtain a clientele, for whatever reason, it is an infraction and as an individual, it is possible for you to get a fine of 2000$.

Now

If the law regarding " cleanliness of the public domain " is enforced ( Règlement sur la propreté et sur la protection du domaine public et du mobilier urbain, R.R.V.M., c. P-12.2 ), they are a bit less agressive with the fines :

60 to 100 $ for a first infraction
100 to 300$ for a second infraction of same nature
300$ to 1000$ dollars for a third infraction

So if you got 5 or 6 fines and owe the city of montreal no more than 3000$, it is probable that, in your case, the law regarding " cleanliness of the public domain " was enforced, and not the other one.

....................

You are probably aware of the campaign that our mayor has launched : " [ Operationmontreal.net ] ", a series of measures to make sure our city becomes clean and stays clean.

Link to the website : [ ville.montreal.qc.ca ]

Now I read ( at the bottom of the page linked ) that the laws regarding cleanliness of the public domain will be " vigorously enforced ", even more so than before.

Just an hypothesis : does that mean that the city of Montreal will aim to set " examples ", and give exemplary fines in order to discourage potential offenders ( promoters ) ??? I wonder.

I was speaking to a police officer just a moment ago. I will call the municipal court tomorrow to get confirmation of what I learned today. But the police officer did point me in the right direction.

Basically : police officers can enforce a by-law amending a by-law regarding " peace and order " ( they can also enforce a law regarding " cleanliness of the public domain " ). This amendment modifies the article 7 of the chapter P-1 of the old municipal code.

The full article will be in my next post. I will give the reference so you will be able to check it out for yourselves.

About the fees, it reads :

For an individual :

100 to 1000$ for a first offence

150 $ to 2000$ for a second offence

So what Cyan said about her getting a 2000 $ fine is totally possible.

For a " company " that produces events ( " personne morale " ) it reads :

200$ to 2000$ for a first offence

300$ to 4000$ for a second offence

Update » Intoccabile wrote on Tue Oct 24, 2006 @ 9:14pm
Bear in mind that the city of Montreal can prosecute offenders using two distinct " sets " of laws :

1 . The laws regarding the cleanliness of the public domain ( flyers on windshields, on the sidewalk, posters on walls, on public property in general ).

2. The laws regarding " peace and order in the public domain "
