I dunno 10$ for 3 rooms of local music is kind of not too bad... It beats paying 20-30$ for one room of local music in a bigger place. The sq of the 3 rooms is equivalent to one big room. Variety is important! It would have been cool if it was a free event but not everyone likes to throw free events.

I'd rather have one decent room then three crappy ones.
I'd rather not pay 10$ for a house party which is being promoted as a rave. I'd rather pay 20$ and have enough place to dance without having to worry about elbowing my neighbor. I'd rather pay 20$ to enjoy music on real speakers rather than expendable computer speakers. You're right... it would have been cool to have this type of event for free but apparently owners believe they have something worth offering by deciding to implement a lucrative system by creating a concept on which you need to pay everytime you visit to chill there. Much like a youth center... but with the complete opposite objective. |

I actually believe that 2 of the 3 rooms were free... The happy room (which had a home computer speaker system) you had to pay. There 2 other rooms were free with better sound systems. Obviously not everyone knew this but it was the case.

Yup... our room was free. It IS lame to pay 10$ to listen HH on computer speakers.

Oh shit... I thought ppl had to pay 10$ for all three rooms.
This is just ridiculous! I honestly feel bad for those that wasted the money. |

Does anyone who paid feel ripped off??? That is a better question... Then again I really enjoy free parties... I'd maybe have done the party free with maybe a donation hat in each room so people could donate to whatever room they enjoyed the most. Then again it's not my place. Then I would do the RAFFLE trick. Sell raffle tickets and then goto another room to pickup your prize (which is a beer). As long as you are not selling alcohol you are alright. And you are allowed to pickup your raffle prize 24 hours a day as long as the prize is not being given in the same "location" (room) as the tickets are being sold in... You can color code raffle tickets also to know who sold what... Then you know how much everyone should paid for the beers...

"And so it begins! This will be a benefit party to raise funds for a new rave venue which will double as a chill spot for all ravers on the weekdays. Other funding will come from small entrance fees and partys held on weekends.
The goal: Paint, deco, equipment, cozy furniture, fridge/frezer, oven, microwaves, T.V and other things along the way." Taken for this very website

I wouldn't call that a "cause" per se.
I was more thinking along the line of fundraising for heart disease, cancer research, HIV, etc. But hey! If you call "save the ravers" a cause, by all means... |

what ever it's not even my "cause" (oh shit... is that the correct term?!?" And if ytou feel ripped go complain to the organisation of that rave (damn it i did it again) sorry house party

But usually you have to pay transportion for equipement of course most djs dont pay much for there music anymore! But still 10$ is dirt cheap as you get lotsa good djs playing and like noah says the 3 rooms is fun & i love roaming around those halls on 2cb LOL! But ya its a hella of a discussion cause i personally like weird whatever partys like that! for sure beeter sound is better but i find these types of raves euh!who cares very interesting! House raves ya dats its HOUSE RAVES!
I'm feeling honey i shrunk my br right now.. |

My boyfriend payed 15$ to enter a room as big as my bathroom, crowded to death and banging to the sound of a SINGLE COMPUTER SPEAKER. Isn't that a rip-off?
And please don't tell me he paid it to help some people buy themselves partying equipment, that's just gonna make me feel worst.
I'm feeling good-e-too-chews right now.. |
