pusssy vamp, you could make a party in your ass and some people are too high they would tell you they had the time of thier life, until they go to a party from real promoters and see what a crappy shit it was,

computer speaker or not, just by looking at the pictures, i laughed so hard, and people will think that events like these are raves ...

cmon ...

pussy vamp, i see your raving since 2007, maybe this is why you think this was the party of the year...

peter im all with you, as most of us is...
I'm feeling hardcore right now..

Oh, and btw, PLENTY of ppl have told me that they really enjoyed the party. It may not have really been a rave, but so what?

If this isn't a single (aka 1 aka UNO) computer speaker than I don't know what it is.

I'm talking about the computer speaker that was used in the same room that was not properly equipped with turntables for my friend at the beginning of the night even though Marc knew about the problem the night before.

People always enjoy a party on drugs, I can't argue that point. But I guess I have to repeat myself since I don't believe you understand what I'm trying to bring up here: promoters dragged people out under false pretexts to fund their project. This isn't even about the fact that I've been to fund raising events 10 folds better than what was being held on Friday.

Fund raising raves, as this event was being presented as, are not house parties with a single pc speaker.

Uhhh.. actually, I was raving back in '98, '99, 2000, and stopped for a while. And it wasn't a RAVE no, but it was a pretty good PARTY.

Oh, and btw, there's another speaker around somewhere that u can't see in the pic, and a subwoofer below the computer desk. Believe me, the sound gets VERY loud.
I'm feeling uber cheeeeze!! right now..

haha just heard about this whole story ..

so the only sound provided for 10 bones was ONE SINGLE COMPUTER SPEAKER ? !

hilarious !
thats called ripoff

we(idj) used to have crappy sound at our parties, but still, the location, the lineup and stuff, it was worth the 10$ ....we didnt screw anyone up , especially that we never really did any profit in the end ..

but one computer speaker ...ouch !
I'm feeling next level right now..

And btw everyone, for the project PLUR thing, we've raised about half of what we need to raise to open a loft.

I didn't charge people at lot of money for little plastic castle and all the money was going to a not for profit organization. Plus I had a good sound system, paid my djs, had security and a bunch of stuff.

If 1619 is a place where people live and have parties sometimes and it's not supposed to be for raves...how come marc/illeagle told me this when i was quizzing him about the situation
"Yea, I already have the place lol. I wouldn't try to pull off something of this magnitude without a solid plan. 1619 william has a gazillion empty industrial lofts for rent and all different styles and sizes. "
"The party will be held in the same building that will be used for The project P.L.U.R venue. "
Whichmeans that this raver hangout which would be used as a hangout on the weekdays and a rave venue on the weekend would be 1619
I was told that after the party or at the party all the information about project plur would be released and there has been nothing.
There are a whole bunch of raves coming up by project plurastik..sorry for the spelling..whatever.. which i assume will be held at the new raver chillout. How would that be possilbe if 1619 isnt a considered by the promoters as a rave venue.
Also makes me worry about whats going on for taste the rainbow.

Yeah, he probably just didn't really explain everything well enough.. I dunno. =S And yeah, there could have been better equipment fer sure, but whatever.. I mean we still haven't quite raised enough to open the loft yet with what we made.. (we need pay first and last months of rent.. one month will be covered by the ppl who will be living there but we need to cover another month).

...Anyway, I just hope this whole thing doesn't end up hurting the reputation of 1619.. it really is a nice place to chill and have house parties.

what?
lol

man this is disturbing, if i understand quite well, you make the raves pay your rent by setting "raves" in your house and by charging people for something not worth it.

while good promoters work and invest money to give great parties with ORGANISATION, (which mean RENTING A SOUND SYSTEM WHEN YOU DO A "rave") for the same price?

so you saying " im screwing up ravers to pay my rent, directly "

thats it?

woww ....

Yeah.. honesly I don't know WHAT the charging ppl this for the weekdays thing is myself.. I think that was included in the prices of the party BEFORE he knew better what was going on. Ppl aren't going to have to pay to hang out on weekdays or when there aren't big parties happening.. which honestly, there will only be ilke maybe ONE party a week and those will be pretty cheap.
I'm feeling uber cheeeeze!! right now..

I was told by illeagle:
"The party itself will be held between the loft I live in, which is designed specifically for partys, and another member of our communitys loft downstairs as the chill room. Between our community, we have 4 lofts in the building that we use in rotation for partys. For the raver chill out spot I'll be opening, I'll actually be renting another loft in the building to use only for that. Your right, if not it would be people paying my rent lol, and that would be very wrong."

I would not have involved myself in this project by attempting to play at the party if i knew this was going to be so weird.
For projects like this everything has to be upfront and straight forward and right now it isnt looking like it

This issue doesn't concern the building but rather those that decide in which way it is being used.

All of this isn't coming outta the blue and doesn't specifically target the entire 1619 building. This is an accumulation of DJs, promoters and party go'ers that have silently been accumulating frustration caused by the overwhelming feeling of being ripped off. Hosting parties in an effort to finance your own rent is by far the most soul-binding reason to throw a party I have ever come across.

Shit.. yeah, I think that's how he planned it to beging with. I don't think that were supposed to be living there but the plan got changed and well, marc is a burnout, I'm sorry about that. And yeah, Marc hasn't been online for a while, but as soon as he logs in he will explain everything that is going on CLEARLY to everyone (let's hope). LoL! I sure I hope I'm doing an ok job in the meantime of trying to sort out some of the confusion.. I don't really know exactly EVERYTHING that is going on here, I'm just helping out with the project.

But yeah, the plan changed cuz I guess he figured it would be better if ppl were paying rent instead of having to rely on parties and such to keep the place open.

The problem is that this conversation I had with marc was only a few days ago and i think people should be aware of what the project is if they are putting time and money into it. I took the night off to play at the party and i worked early the next day. Plus I've been feeling weird and dizzy every night recently but i still showed up with a good set in my hands.

Actually Marc has been online on March 10th. I'm also pretty certain he's aware of this thread and currently following it considering the immense number of folks connecting over at his place: [ www.rave.ca ] .
