I'm feeling hardcore right now..

Just so you guys have a global picture of how the term "rave" has slowly been slaughtered by some promoters, here is the full extent of the situation as far as I know.

List of apartments used as "rave" venues:

Cyberloft
1619 Williams (smaller rooms)
Studio Loco

Promoters renting these apartments:

Crazy wild productions
ILL_EAGLE
PLURastik productions
Six Feet High
big member! (sabinostop)
Under Grinding

On top of that, I haven't even listed the few promoters that I personally know are considering renting the places mentioned above.

I suggest all DJs to inquire about where the above listed promoters are having their parties to avoid any disappointment.

i think it's sad that some people really think that because they had fun at a party that no one else has the right to complain... .. .

there is no drama in this thread, no direct insults, no arrogance etc...Just a discussion about quality control. And saying that we should do something instead of just giving our opinions? Well, that, in and of itself, is just talk and no action... ...besides, communication is important, especially to ensure this so- called "Unity" of the scene... ...now if only we can find some more "respect" around here... .. .

power to the people!

I want to make something clear: do NOT bash on 1619 because a few people threw some lame parties over there: The venue and the promoters ARE not affiliated. I see all those posts saying how cool this and that parties were so leave that place alone, aight?

Okay.
I have been holdin' back about commenting on this place.
Can't hold back any longer.

That place is sketchy at best. Seems like everyone is oblivious to what is going on in that building.
Bunch of easily manipulated underage ravers not to mention newbie promoters sporting a crew of 30-40 plus underage kids *IS* a great thing to take advantage of. I ain't gonna go into specifics, but man, people are beeing used on so many levels in that building.

and I mean ON SOOOOOO MANY LEVELS.

So, well, knowing the place, ain't too worried for my ass, I can cope with theses "pseudo-warlocks" and such. And I am not blowing crap around, people (I hold names) have asked me to "participate" in a wide scale deception. Just watch your ass (literally) and keep an eye on your drink. Also NEVER LEAVE YOUR BUDDIES ALONE. Ever noticed how everybody is beeing followed around the building when commuting from one circle to another in there?

my two cents.

Besides,
primo :if I had a house party where I made 500$, I would pay my fucking deejays.
second: Venue not affiliates with promoters. WTF?

I have nothing against the building (it's nice enough, never bit me) It's most of the tenants living there affiliated with some weird ass philosophies, AND the lazy ass promoters who wanna have it easy with no regards to their own crowds that they say they respect. I do not consider putting a bunch of kids in a room, high on various drugs, with people 3 times their ages trying to convert them to "a new state of consciousness" a very responsible thing to do.
I'm feeling antagonistic right now..

Best protection against all that is :
A) wearing a lampshade on your head
B) having a confetti gun on you at all times!
C) not talking to anybody
D) bursting people's bubbles before they can get to yours

:D
how to party 101.

that's why before calling yourself a promoter you need to LOOK for venues, thoroughly, and not resort to apartments the size of your my room. also, it would help if you actually SAVED SOME FUCKIN MONEY before throwing a party and not rely on the tickets being sold to cover the entire thing.

end rant.

Er, Woodie boy

I was commenting on the 1619 william venue, I don't recall you doing anything there. Even tough I have no clue what else you've done since I last saw you at a party. Kinda lost interest.

So well, about the "lazy promoter" bit, sorry you took it so personnal, but I meant lazy as in not actually looking for places, just looking for people who might know places. Wich is not very efficient.
So there.

And that bit about me not beeing one to talk. I have no clue what you're saying. So why don't you just tell me exactly what it is I did at that party (wich party?). And what won't you need to bring up? What is so important that you and someone else realised recently? I am genuinely curious.
