you know, i find it funny that this has 'event' has generated such a reaction out of all of you. just because it's something that happened to "us" as in us, 1st world north american democracy loving civilized intellectuals who are without sin. bla fucking bla, shit happens everyday. are there tears for everyone? or more importantly are some events or people more important than others that should get more of our attention?
this 9/11 business was all hype from the get go. the only reason i think it affected the way we see the world so much is because it showed us that 'hey the government can get caught with its pants down'
people should get over it, i don't want to sound like a dick but, 3000 people died. wow. how many die everyday in other terrorist acts/genocides/wars etc..?

all i'm saying is enjoying what you got, cuz the bombs might fall tomorow and all these words, tributes, and bloody nonsense was for nothing.
life is short, as long as you learn from your mistakes and MOVE ON with your life, you can be a happier person.
I'm feeling scratch and sniff right now..

I lived in Jacksonville, FL back then. To those in the know, it's a naval base. Most of it, at any rate. Biggest aircraft carrier base in North America.

So everyday for a couple years was "put flags fucking everywhere" day. So many flags, hiding everything.

People with t-shirts... "these colors don't run!" Guys with stickers of "Osama Ben Laden: Wanted" on their pick up truck. Soldiers and rednecks, looking weird at everyone not entirely white. Such a beautiful time to not be an American!

wizdumb, as i said in one of my first post, we hold the defenitive truth!!!

3000 people died. wow. how many die everyday in other terrorist acts/genocides/wars etc..?

3000 people, on 6 to 7 billion people on earth, is 0.00005% of the planet. there is a lot more people dying everyday, and some of them are killed directly or indirectely by the u.s. but hey, as an american, i say: HAVE PITY FOR US, MY GOVERNEMENT KILLED MY OWN PEOPLE JUST TO GO TOIRAK AND GET PETROL' PLEASE PITY ME!

yeah.. right
I'm feeling promiscuous right now..

On the other hand of the spectrum, why start backmouthing dead people? Because some had it worse? Both extremes are ridiculous.

He wasn't badmouthing anybody. Just by giving this incident attention you're disrespecting them. They died to generate hype and here you are continuing it. No matter what you believe about that day you're just giving the government exactly what they wanted in doing this. You're totally off the wall in your judgements of people.
I'm feeling bored right now..

So wait, let me get this right. Talking about 9/11 victims = no because it helps further a cause.

But talking about the holocaust = yes, even if that too helps further a cause.

I don't follow you. Be consistent, please.

Talking about the holocaust isn't what the nazi's would have wanted, it is what the victims would have wanted. WhY? Because thrre is a lot ot learn from that and absolutely nothing to learn from this at this point. I never told oyu to tlak about the hoocaust in the first place. I said that if you wanna talk abotu something politically relevant you should at least start with that.
I'm feeling bored right now..

I think the best part of it is, I'm telling you to mourn the dead, no matter what they died for. You're telling me I'm disrespecting them. Wizdumb goes "lol 300 dead, so what?" and you back him up.

Great reasoning there.

You're obviously taking his comments a little too seriously. And no you weren't telling me to mourn for the dead no matter what they died for.. if that's really what you wanted to say than you wouldn't be supporting this 9/11 tribute crap in the frist place. You'd be mourning on your own time whenver you chose.

Hey, I wanted to be a thanatologist as a kid. I have my special way of mourning the dead. It does not, however, include necrophilia/phagia, rest assured.
