It's really too bad too, because violence only incites more violence. And true justice can never be had, in my cases, there is no justice :(

Human are imperfect beings, blaming one person or even an entire population is just sadistic.

The ONLY possible lesson that can be learned from 9/11 is to keep your mind open, teach by example, not by authority and if you see a plane coming at ya, RUN!
I'm feeling manly right now..

i always respected firefighter and so much more since that day... it's sad for the victims who were at the wrong place at the wrong time but really these firefighter chose to go up there help poeple. i think it's so courageous. each time i go get a bus at port authority i really think about it and have less hate for cops.. almost all the cops of port authority die at wtc.

it's good to think about the political impact of that day on our world but really today i think that we should just think about the victims and their family.

and yeah like stunna says we should be happy to haven't been there. because it was fucking ugly

Oli... "by mid-afternoon on 11 September, 1973, Chile had lost its President, Democracy had been dealt a blow that it would take 25 years to recover from and the world was about to witness one of the worst cases of political cleansing."

I can't comprehend for my life why you people decide to pay tribute to septembre 11th and not any of the other trajedies that ever happen around the world. Why aren't we paying tribute to Hiroshima or Rwanda or the Holocaust or the numerous large earthquakes that happened in the past few years on their anniversary's? We don't even pay tribute to shit that happens right here in our city like the ecole polytechnique but here you people are paying tribute to the victims of septembre 11th. I agree they deserve it and everything but if you're going to pay tribute to them and no one else on occasions where many many more people die what the hell does that say about you? God septembre 11th crap pisses me off. It's so self-important and arrogant of the americans to have treated this like the biggest trajedy in the world that it's not even funny and here we are placing it above every trajedy that ever happened.

And what the hell is with all those people crying just because someone bombed their country? If you didn't know anyone who died or anyone who knows someone who died or anythign than what the fuck are they so goddamn sad about? Some poeple from your country died boohoohoo. You're scared boohoohoo. Why am I the only one who wasn't fuckign surprised? Man I expected this to dominate the news headlines for 1 day.
I'm feeling bored right now..

I think there is a difference between a natural disaster and a terrorist attack, even tho I feel sad for both, from a political perspective 9/11 was a pivotal and much more important event, plus it was much closer to home than the tsunami for example.

I'm pretty sure he meant we by "our society, mass media and shit". It's quite sad, and as well as all the murders, child abuse, violence on women (and men in some cases), but you can't talk about all the negative happening in the world all the time. The USA are making a big deal out of 09/11, but they have the media, the money, and the big emo mouths.
I'm feeling grumpy right now..

Just because I didn't complete it doesn't mean it's lame, since yes we also pay tribute for the holocaust and hiroshima, also nagazaki but on less larger scale, we sent troop too darfour and rwanda and loads of cash to all the vistims of major earquakes and tsunami, we also paid tribute to that, but you seems to just recall the major event that was written in the news in the last few days.
I'm feeling yup right now..

Closer to home? I love that one, gets me teary every time. I love how canadians like to practically pretend it happend to them. Anyways my point was not to make people feel bad about paying tribute. I think it's lovely that you care. It's simply to remind you that you're feeding into all their emo desires. If there wasn't so much uncalled for hype than this thread probably wouldn't exist. It's not you guys, it's what your fed. Okay that was wrong. Carry on.

I'm not crying or defending my self I just though you were wrong saying that we didn't pay tribute for a load of bad stuff that stupid for the sake of remembering those who perish in massive event.

Moondancer I visited the WTC skyscrappers a couple of months before it got hit, so yeah I felt a stronger emotional connection than what happened to indonesia. On a sidenote, I strongly believe 9/11 was a insider job, but hey whether it was El Qaeda, CIA, Mossad or even Martians doesnt change a thing about the fact that innocent people died, and they didnt suddenly disappear because of a waking volcano or a moving tectonic plate, no they died because of hate and lust of power.

That makes a world of difference in my book.

And frankly, I live in Quebec and most people here just dont give a flying **** about what happened on 9/11, I dont know about the rest of canada, but I'm pretty sure there aint a lot of canadians who shed a tear on each anniversary.
I'm feeling dance dance right now..
