You don't have to try to convince me about the way things are. I know how they are and I expressed my opinion/personal frustrations about it. That doesn't mean I don't understand why it's like that. Have a cup of tea and pretend I said nothign if it makes you happier. My original post expressed quite clealry that I don't care about this dumb anniversary and I don't care where everyone was when it happened. The people who died there didn't deserve to die anymroe than anyone else and when I pay tribute I'll be paying tribute to everyone who died in unnecessary circumstances, not just a few. You may not feel the same and that's perfectly fine with me. You don't have to try to convince me of what is and isn't. My opinion is really not worht that much. Especially about something that's done and over. I'd just like for it to stay over for once after seeing that stupid date for 6 years. Which is why I'm tired of tlaking about it now and I'm not about to argue about our moral composition towards it.

Moondancer, there arent enough days on the calender to pay tribute to every tragedy that has happened in the past 30 years. Besides why pay tribute to victims of a natural disaster? what's the point? A part from being realy unlucky there is no lesson to be learns exept maybe to not build your city next to a volcano or a rift. If anything its natures way of controlling our population. The real tragedy is that our gouvernements and companies profit from the political and economical chaos that these disasters create.
No mater what angle you look at it 9/11, has had, and keeps on having a important effect on us, our economy, our external politics... Nothing to do here with peoples crying and the shit cnn puts out. Whether you mourne the victimes or the world pre 9/11, or nothing at all, it still remains one of the most significant event of recent history. And if you believe its all hype, well i believe it is you who have fallen for the hype.
I'm feeling rude right now..

Rwnada and the holocaust are far from natural disasters and to tell you the honest truth I think that we'd be much better off reflecting on those right now considering how very much there is to learn from those situations that can be applied here. At the current point in history the story of 9/11 is just not over yet. It's not ready to be reflected on.

Why dramatize, everybody their opinion, they also keep talking about this Quebec city child who disappeared, when there are thousands of kids missing every year. Yes, there might be richer people who have the power to publicize events touching them personnaly, like the parents of this kid, or the United States, and well just like infants we learn byt repetition, we get brainwashed by fashion the same damn way, for most people, and eventually they get bored with some styles, and people are getting bored with the 9/11 event, but not everybody yet.

Chill out, everybody feels it's awful, but some of us are putting more emotions else where, and no one here has the right to judge that.
I'm feeling grumpy right now..

The problem with celebrating the holocaust is, it happened over many years. Everyday would be Holocaust Day.

Leave room for Dollar-des-Ormeaux, damnit!

the jewish holocaust was awfull but wasn't the worse in history...

everybody always forget the holocaust who happened here in america..

the native holocaust deserve more attention i think these day... but i suppose it's easier to remember something that happened over 60 years ago than some tragedy who's still happening today! :( i'm sorry maybe it's extremiste but i can compare easily some reserve with some concentration camp.. maybe not in their form but in their meaning and objective..
I'm feeling hitched right now..

Yeah good idea, lets reflect upon those tragedy's hmmm... humans are fucking cruel. It seems to come NATURAL to us, wouldnt you agree?
Death is all around us... maybe its natural.
Maybe humans have a hard time dealing with there natural impulses.
Maybe we have a hard time dealing with death because we have gone totally superficial.
Maybe one day lions will develope a councience and turn vegetarian.
Who knows.
There should be an expiry date on tributes cus we clearly dont learn anything usefull from them (in the sence that we keep on commiting the same mistakes) and it diverts the attention from where it is needed.
I'm feeling rude right now..

That's exactly what I disagree with.. we should reflect on it BECAUSE it happened a long time ago. Because now, after already being far seperated from the situation we understand how something so fucked up can happen so easily and how we can prevent it. Sure we had our ear talked off abotu the holocaust all of our lives but the problem with that is that they never teach us why it happened. All they ever taight us was that it happened.. it's always been compared to racsism and hate. It wasn't hate. It was mind control on a massive scale. You cxan't summarise the control of a whoel population with hate.

Humans are parasites if you ask me, I'm of that school of thinking. But we're here, stuck in our buttfuck race (humanbeing) and even if we pay tribute to this and that event, there isn't much little me and little you can do. We're not the powerful ones here.. and Canada ain't where the attention is.

So, how far back should we reflect upon? ww2, ww1? maybe the crucifiction of Jesus?
Tributs are symbolic moments used to sway emotions, usualy to rally the masses behind a national and/or moral cause. If thats not mind control at a large scale, i dont know what is.
If you are still wondering why the Holocaust, why Rwanda, why pain and suffering and why we dont seem to lern our lesson? I strongly suggest you pick up the book "The Lucifer Principle" by Howard Bloom. Might help you understand why humans are the way they are.

Rome fought with the Germanic tribes in 400. While they lost, they've hurt a lot of my ancestors. I DEMAND REPARATION!

My Native and Inuit ancestor have both suffered from the same Germanic tribes that have later on become the oppressors of the New Land. I DEMAND REPARATION FROM MYSELF!

PLZ GIMME MONIES! I HURT (my ancestors' ghosts keep poking at me).

We're mean and evil and deceitful, all of us. We try to rationalize it but that's how we are. There is not a single inherently good person on Earth, nor there ever was.

Want to feel bad? Start by trying to remember those you've hurt today.
