Some more free beer would have been nice but I hear Sims was being a bitch with the alcohol. I was kinda suprised that the door price was so expensive... but as Goalien wrote, the party was by no means equitable so I guess they were right to charge that much, prolly made them lose less money than they would have. |

well first it's important to pay the room, and whatever rental is being made. i don't know for other people, but me i don't mind so much if the djs are not pro, what's the most important is the party in itself. if the djs think they are somehow superstars... well that sucks for them lol. Not a question of being "fun" to get paid. It s how things work. If you don't want to pay a dj, then get an ipod! I am not new to promoting or putting on parties, and as important as payig your rentals and equipment are so is paying your talent. And it is not a question of thinking we are superstars, its a question of common sense and simple economics. If you want someone to come and provide a service which you yourself are unable to provide, you have to be prepared to pay for it. Simple as that I love the attitude of the average raver that has no idea how much that bag of records actually costs, and the time and effort we put into searchin those plates out. P.L.U.R sure! |

| Coolness: 166565 | .......i do deco, i know how it's like to put a lot of time, money and effort into something and not getting paid... but i do it for the love, and if money comes, well that's super good... but it's not the reason why i do it. and there are a lot of people in the rave scene who do it for the love.
if you want to do something that gives you lots of money, do it... i don't think being a dj is something that gets someone rich, unless your name is fucking tiesto or something. |

I have played plenty of parties where it has cost me money to provide my services. Bare minimum pay your dj's cab at the end of the night, get him drunk whatever, but don't expect that we will play for free because we are supposed to love and respect the "scene".
