As a whole, obviously the event was a success.
Detail wise, like everyone mentioned before the date arrived, le bain mathieu is too small to hold and event of such a calibre. Either there should of been a limit to admittance or a larger venue should of been selected, only because I assume people came out to dance, which was near impossible :p I enjoy the bar feel to the event, chatting, drinking and all, just would of liked a little spot to dance between conversations.
The sound was better than I remember :) The music was nicely selected. Mad Maxx gave it his all once again, I love how he knew every single sound he played, he waved his arms to the beat like there was no tomorrow, I could see him make eye contact with the crowd in the front, really amazing!
Lastly, my favourite costume was the dude dressed as Raoul Duke from Fear and Loathing Las Vegas, yes I realize it doesn’t take much to dress up, what was amazing is that he was in character the WHOLE TIME, I saw him make soooo many Raoul Duke faces and postures, it was inspiring, he played the role nicely and it make me chuckle every time. Of course there were amazing costume from an artistic perspective, such as the lovely ladies dressed as gods, all painted in blue. And the ultimate cute outfit goes to the CUPCAKE! Oh and there two awesome ninja in full getup! +10

I most strongly agree with this line of thought, and have seen it to be true. Regardless of opinions, it takes money to make money, and there ain't nothing wrong with bringing home the bacon. Especially when it's to party ;) Although all this brings the bitter tastes in my mouth of when many people were debating the problem of elitism in the psy scene... Honestly, I much much enjoy going to trash party one month, and then a semi amateur-professional party and then heading out for a "bar night" to a professional event. Society needs a bit of everything, I sure as hell don't want to piss in a broken toilet at every party nor do I wanna indulge the stuck folk and relieve myself on a porcelain antique too often ;) ya digg

Slightly Off Topic:

I was thinking about Nameste's comment of, come to contribute not to consume, I think not dancing should be an automatic fail for contribution :p muehehehehehehehehehe :D

On Topic:

I agree with nads on there needing a First Aid Tent, with or without drugs, just walking in the forest can encourage injuries. If we look into it, we don't have to hire like a special/specific organization, perhaps like 2 nurses known personally to whomever that are not into this type of music but love the sun, hook em up with a gazebo and pay them to bring some gear and voila. Unless the party has insurance and there are recommendation or requirements, if not, I think that's good. I know a few nurses that Might be up for it...

I'd like to do a bit of door/entrance duty, I think Ben asked Joé if he/we could, so I am down to work the door, p-e un petit lutin pourras m'amener de l eau pour survire dans la chaleur :D unless it's at night, then a fairy could bring some enchanted herbs :p, I am working full time, so not sure I can come early to help put up the deco, though it was kinda fun at St-jean two years ago, our belt line was full of bites from having our hands up in the air and exposing our bellies, man we had red bites all around our waists :p hehehehehe

Space Gathering 2007 dimanche matine, oh man, sa torcher, débile! Everyone was in the zone, was so intense and amazing!! Phil qui pince la musique and Gab qui tient sa tete, all of us with uncontrolable smiles, was one of the best mornings ever. Not to hot with the sun out, Tom qui torche avec c est 10 CD en jouent 2 heurs plus tard que prévue, Du fucking full on a 8 du matine genre, malade!

p.s. constructive criticism is not meant to be positive or negative...it is a statement formulated in attempts to further the knowledge base, to point out weaknesses in attempts to correct/make better, it is the foundation of intellect, what Universities are based upon, critical thought process, cognitive process of bright individuals are offered only for the benefit of all. It is up to you to take what you want and leave the rest, it's not about good or bad. Discussion are meant to help along the evolution of our critical thought machine, the mind. It is you, and only you, that can make a statement positive or negative for we all see things differently. Perhaps it lies in the way you say it. Rudeness ect... Certainly etiquette counts.

Moi je me suis amuser a fonds a toute les space gathering, il avant des moment long, mais on passe toute des moments plus longue que d autre...c est normal.

Like always, both sides have a point, and both sides have offered reasonable rebuttals. However, it would seem that neither of you are actually confronting the issues, all your saying is, "oui mais" "yes but this", your turning in circles not actually offering a solution. Maybe there is no solution because most perceive there is no problem. However, when your clients, your friends are pleading for understanding and good communication, turning around and pretending like everything is fine is not a proper response i.e. censorship. Especially if you consider yourself friends. There is no two ways about it, several people who participated in past Space Gatherings festivals have encountered certain problems. Some were simple complaints from the attendees, which are important because it's feedback, opinions from your attendees allows you to construct a action plan for the following year. More seriously, when your employees, such as sound tech and djs, have complaints, the problem usually stems from two things (1) it's just internal bickering caused by jealousy or pride, or (2) there is a real problem, such as, poorly managed logistics resulting in employees not being paid as promised. There are several rationalizations for this behaviour which seem to exclude the fact that these djs, or more seriously sound techs, and live performers have worked hours and hours and hours at home preparing everything, they should be payed for this, let's say several bucks and hour, that's why musicians and athletes are payed outrageous amounts, because they trained for countless hours at home.

Now all this may sound off the wall because not many people are actually aware that several employees were not payed, were not offered an adequate explanation and were not promised to be payed later in the year. All the people who spoke out where black listed. Your preach love, peace and happiness when you do not even treat your employees with respect. No love, peace or happiness can stem from an environment where respect is not bread.

I've been attending parties for long enough to know that the scene is filled with lies, deceptions and thus no respect, and it doesn't even seem intentional, it a carefree borderline careless atmosphere, just brush it off, just keep smiling. I do not agree with anyone here persay to a T, just realize that you all have a good point and talk about it for fuck sakes. Ben is not alone in this, friends help friends out, whomever allowed the brushing under the rug is as guilty as the employer who did not pay his employees.

We are all responsible. The workers for letting their employers get away with it, the attendees for keeping their noses clear of the tension, and the by standers for well, being complacent, and most of all the employers for not addressing the issues that have been cried out over and over again.

Everything I've stated goes for all events, not just the ones behind Space Gathering. The psychedelic scene in Montreal is fragile because of the unsaid wars between crews. And do not even try to tell me there is no tension and no hidden wars. Lie to yourself, I am perfectly about to do that on my own.

I love you all, and love psy music, I just can't take anymore bullshit. Stop pretending like everything is peachy. Honour and Valour should be of up most importance, conduct yourselves in a manner to be proud of for years to come. The present means nothing without the inevitability of the future.

Keep on Rocking!

The halucinations are also part of that, the part of the brain that dreams is also not completely off yet. What's the weirdest about it is that, apart from some kind of demon, the "vision" that everyone sees are female, which is where the succubus myths came from, and the original name that I found out about sleep paralysis under was by looking up what someone had once called "old hag syndrome".

pretty much...its mainly the neurotransmitter acytylcholine (along with 5-HT and NE) that regulates sleeping movements (actually it's the main player in all body movements), so when you wake up and you cant move it's because these 3 neurotransmitters are still being secreted (or at least your still under the effect of their secretion) at the specific frequency needed for sleeping...

sleep tight

oh and evilkitkatbar try putting a piece of cristalline in your room...i think that's how it's spelt...it's a type of mineral/stone...needs to be purified before putting it in your room...
