A few months ago the Black&White crew told me they wanted to get into this, so try contacting Samantha B (Sparklz), she probably has Hugo's contact info ... they tended my energy drink bar at Ctrl Alt Del and did a great job. At the end of the night they told me they planned on making it a full service (at my party I just hired them to sell my shit).

Check it out!

not much! xD ... and both are supposed to be different from happy hardcore, and well ... it's also subtle.

I'm not saying that Psy is the only type of music that has sounds that are all similar, most types of music are like that - and that's the problem: creating useless sub-genres. Re-naming styles just 'cause of a subtle production difference isn't necessary, imo.

Sometimes I play Gabber, and I might go through dozens of tracks before finding one that really stands out and is particularly interesting, and not generic.

Genres are supposed to implicate a defining sound, and major element that really sets it apart from other styles. Otherwise we get a million sub-genres, and a million tracks in each sub-genre that sound all the same ...

Ok, listen to the 'toy piano' type melody in both these tracks, and they're almost identical .. then tell me we're supposed to differentiate between the subtleties in the various psy pstyles and songs :/
Or, you guys are saying 'spooky little piano-esque melodies' are what make Twilight what it is.

They're cool tunes!.. just not really winning the 'no, these are totally different' argument :P

Haha!! XD

Each style of Psy, though pretty similar, are sub-genred in order to dictate when/where they should be played. Otherwise the trance is broken! xD

twilight - to be played when it's twilight out.
morning - to be payed in the morning
full-on - for the middle of the night
forest - listen to it when you're outside
dark - for a meaner party
prog- for a nicer party / or opening set
psytek - bring this with you incase there are clubbers at the party

Then of course, the sub-sub-genres all mix-n-match with those basic styles ...

It's all very obvious, but it's also obvious that there isn't an incredible difference between 'em ...

BUT, what sets each style apart is the mood/ambiance they try to emulate. The kick-drums and synth stylings are very similar, if not identical, but the notes/vibe/tempo are different enough to (in the acidized mind) convey the desired mood, and therefore are supposed to be played at the appropriate moment ...

With most other types of Techno, even though ppl love to sub-genre, it's alot less complicated.
When someone asks what kind of Hardcore I play, I just tell 'em: ''The hard kind ... ''

Montreal's Aliceffekt is great, though he's been straying from pure chiptunery in the past year, check out his older stuff. I know he has a site with alot of tracks available for free DL, but I can't quite remember it ... try a search.

Also, put a game in your old NES and plug it into your soundsystem and you're good to go :p

remember Y2K ??

exactly, it was pretty disappointing.

when our world ends (ours, 'cause the planet will survive us) it'll be 'cause of cataclysmic environmental events (maybe brought on sooner 'cause of pollution etc) but ultimately a natural occurrence, as it has already happened in the past (and nature is extremely brutal, so watch out).
OR 'cause of of some cluster-fuck global war.

There is no fucking way it'll be some Rapture brought on by some God. It also won't be 'cause some old calendar ended (y'know, they may have just ran out of space or time to finish the damn thing).

Whatever it is, it won't be tomorrow (or the 'day after tomorrow') and it won't be predictable.

Of course, it might also be Aliens ... ;)

It HAS stopped ppl from using multiple accounts. That's a fact. And if they continued anyway, it was all shits & giggles 'cause we knew it was the same person. And none of the trolling types here know how to, or would want to, use proxy shit to get around it. Otherwise they'd've done it by now.

Again, if it was a problem ... we'd be having problems, no? But we don't, so ... what's the big deal?

If someone is savvy enough to use IP addresses to their advantage, I'm pretty sure they're smart enough to find 'em through many other means. It's not like it's impossible ... so we're just hiding in plain sight ;)

As for the trolling ... sure ppl here troll eachother, but at least we know WHO they are. It has happened where someone does some stupid trollage, and it lasts 2 minutes 'cause we go ''dude, we see your IP address, we know you're just *such-n-such* trying to troll with another profile''. So, it has helped.

Anyway, if a problem arises from this, Noah will get rid of it, I'm sure. It's the advantage of a site where everyone who posts knows the guy the runs it personally ;)

Besides all that, not everyone even realizes the IPs are posted ... but hey, thanks for telling everyone with a big fat thread! xD

This whole thing reminds me a Christmas joke my Mom once told me :::

Guy walks into a pet shop, asking for a pet to keep him company over the Holidays.

The clerk responds: ''Well, we have a parrot that sings Christmas songs! Y'see, when I light a lighter under his left foot he sings ... ''

... and the bird begins to sing ''I'm dreaming of a white Christmas!''

The clerk continues: ''And when I light the lighter under his right foot ... ''

... the bird begins to sing: ''Here comes Santa Claus, here comes Santa Claus!''

The guy considers a moment, then asks ''What happens when you light the lighter between his feet?''

The clerks says ''I don't know, never tired it''.

So, he lights the lighter ... and the bird sings ''Chestnuts roasting on an open fire!''

Dubstep was really THE soundtrack to 2011, whether people like it or not ... and liking how it evolved is a question of taste ;)

BUT, it's still a shame that what was a cool thing to do with it (dark/heavy random wobbles) became a style/the-norm rather than just being a technique used for a few note-worthy tracks.

IMO, the same thing happens to all genres of music ...

Then again, if only 3 tracks of a certain sound exist, they'll be hard to discover for some and yet over-played by others ... so you need a million songs with that sound, and you can sift through it all and find the few tracks that are worth playing/listening to. You probably shouldn't ONLY listen to that sound though ;)

To say that dubstep is shit, is going too far ... but to say that it's THE shit? C'mon now, wake up! xD

Anyway, just my opinion, don't hate me for it ;)
