if the only reason you buy vinyls it's because you like to hold the thing you pay for

just put your mp3's on a external hard drive, usb key, recordable CDs

;)

i love vinyls because the sounds is great, i think vynils are beautiful and the oldschool aspect gives it a terrific charm

vinyls + sunday + coffee = sweetness
I'm feeling kiss me, im shitface right now..

absolutely not. to me its all about the stylus and how the mechanical compression of the cristal on the needle from the l-r groove walls carved on the disk are translated in real time into audio from the 4 phase quadrant out of a rotor movement , couldnt be more more beautifull ,

esp when you consider how they were invented and what happened to the media from its introduction to now, and how it will ever be the only physical apparatus that doesnt need electriciy to play nor a cricuit itself. the circuit only exist because the motor needs juice.

other ppl other reason but not only one, and esp not the one specified previously as the -only- reason
I'm feeling tarfu right now..

I guess you're not actually in to good sound quality then if you like vinyl that much.

Electronic music is produced these days completely on computers.. if you put that on a record, you are getting a lower quality version of the track.

So are you saying the last 20 years of music being pumped out at parties had poor sound quality?
I think the soundsystem you use will define mostly how the sound comes out for the listener.
Also its not just because i can hold it, sure yuou can buy a usb key, external hardrive, thinigs again you rely on them working and electricity.
if your hardrive crashed or breaks you lose it all.

Again I come back to my point. Vinyl has more potential to last forever then a technology that will probably wont work in 5 years because something new will come out or some new type of file that not compatible.

computera have life spans of ar0und 5 years average..?
my decks is over 15 years old and some of my vinul is over 30 years old
I'm feeling workout burns right now..

nope , not at all , im saying mass production quality got down in order to get more production out.

neoform work so hard at trying to troll, that most info said gets corrupted back by his incessant need to prove he know my job i have been doing for the last deccade , even if he just picks phones up all day....

if you read properly it was clearly writen that common electical appliance isnt quality focused but a mere final retail product.

example 1 out of 290472985790867856 = head phones - you buy a sony 22hz to 33khz and what you get when you open them is the same diaphragm my home phone has, unless i go into professionnal studio gear (not dj). these headphones have about a hand full of component . and your telling me those 3 wires , two cheap speakers i can get at digikey, com for 1,39$ and thoses shits at sony sell them for 110$ +

i have a seen 8hz to 44khz headphones, in the 70s-80s, nowadays this quality can only be found in really reallly specialised compagny , at around 1500$= a pair, witch most of them arent known by general civilians , but general movement dictates you wont find them ever till its needed in order to sell more than the competitor , and now all jap foundry are allied together in order to lower brute product consumption and give out the "same" but with a 28973849567895467 : 1 ratio of what it used to take. you think it works the same when its 2390576745867654 less times smaller in component ? smaller burns quick , smaller burns very quick and isnt prone to maintenance like shit used to be made for
they are all against you, remember that, all for your money.

this is the nwo, need moar examples based on my 10 years professionnal exp ?
I'm feeling tarfu right now..

And this is why I hate audiophiles, no human can hear anywhere near 44Khz, so why are they making such things...? They do it because it gives you the perception of quality, when all your doing is paying for something you can't use.

What next, light bulbs that let off radio waves and gamma rays? Nice! I'll buy 8!

hmmmm. I read somewhere that freqs. that are higher than the human ear can grasp will still have influence on the lower harmonic content, in the audible range for say. I've tried on a mic pre-amp that had the possibility to shelf the hi freqs. @ 30 khz. There was a difference but it was almost un-noticable.

yup; despite our not hearing them, they still cause the speaker to vibrate, which combined with the frequencies that we DO hear, produces extra harmonics..

Saying that just because we can't hear them we don't need them is fucking stupid. That's like saying that because we can't see radiation, it doesn't affect us, or that since we don't see pollutants in the water, it's safe to drink.

Everything affects everything.

exactly , better hi to low dynamics will still gives out faster response of lower contour to best represent initial recording master. esp if all the mastering has being done on hi end equipement (vms for example).

give a pair of cheap headphone/monitor to the engineer during recording and you just doomed the whole rest of the chain to deliver quality sound to the public that will buy your disk.

this is like the first concept of this whole industry
I'm feeling tarfu right now..

I mean... you throw out numbers like 44.1khz. You do understand that's the sample-rate, and you do know what the sample-rate is, don't you? No one is talking about hearing frequencies that are 44khz... you're simply spouting off a bunch of bullshit that you don't fully understand and expecting other people to believe it... but you don't know what you're talking about.

A cd is essentially miniscule bursts of sound, like watching a movie or television (which simply flashes images to give the illusion of motion)... digital audio doesn't give you a constant waveform, it gives you a waveform that is constantly broken... whereas vinyl does provide you with an unbroken waveform, as well, vinyl can is also capable of producing subharmonic frequencies (ie: seriously deep bass that dips below the threshold that cds reproduce)....

anyhow... go back to your misinformation, and your arm-shrinkery... I realize you probably won't understand any of this, but hopefully anyone reading this thread who thinks you're an authority on these matters will be steered away from your audio shenanigans.
I'm feeling new records right now..
