Awesome it would be greatly appreciated!

I've really been getting into recording lately, always nice to have some inspiration or examples of sound to work with, sort of give you a goal.
I'm feeling wtf charles? right now..

It's uploading now..

Specifically, it's a rip of this version of the album: [ pinkfloydcdscanz.bizland.com ]

Limited edition run, recorded traight off the masters onto 24k gold CDs (no intermediary medium).. Payed about 140$ for it back in 98 or 99...

And this isn't just a good album in terms of the audio quality, it's a Roger Waters album, so it's a very traditional Pink Floyd style concept album that's got a lot to do with how the governments and religion abuse their power and how we've gotten to the point where war is something that's almost like a sport for us; no one cares about life anymore, we're all disposable, and everything is going to hell... np.. If there's any album that deserves to be heard in best possible quality it's this one..

Set aside the one hour and a bit for the whole thing, make sure your speakers are properly set up (same height level, and either angled the same or perfectly straight) and sit in the sweet spot.. turn off your phone, kill the lights, roll up a fatty, then hit play and ignore the world for an hour.

It's more than just an album, it's an experience. You've never heard mastering/recording like this.

but for heavily compressed music (pop/rock/techno) they liked the wav better.

the interesting thing is that what you're saying actually doesn't contradict what Cutterhead has been saying all along... that there is a difference in sound quality. If a group of experts prefers one format over the other because of a masking effect that conceals imperfections, then it would indicate that there is a discernible difference between mp3 and wav (even at 320)... if 'imperfections' are smoothed over in the compression, then it proves that something is lost (even if it is something that isn't necessarily desirable)...

At any rate, I'll stick with records simply because I enjoy the physical act of playing them... I enjoy digging through stacks of records, putting them on turntables, handling them... I never really got anything resembling that feeling from cds, and I get even less of it from mp3s. I can see how they're more convenient... but comparing formats is like comparing pets... and to me, the difference between an ipod and a record collection is like the difference between an ant farm and a dog... one of them is low-maintenance, doesn't take up much room, and can keep you entertained... while the other needs a lot of looking after, requires a lot of space and demands a lot more work...

which is more rewarding?

well first off something you didnt do : verify facts provided (if you read back i covered a lot of principles, but i didnt know you guys where putting me on villagers idiots court tv , and why would i keep answering back the same questions , go verify my claims by yourself , and if you still comes out with the same conclusion , ill go fucking pick you up and show the exceptions that i found to the rules, but the ass-way of you guys not ever getting the fact that i am providing what i provide only so that people who found this as well will relate over the matter ,yet what i see is a pathetic display of, "teacher that i cock suck 15k$ for my course said no so it must be no" is completely ridiclous since , i have a musitechnic's audio course , cegep as telecom opt elec. and a DEP+ASP in electrical repairs. its just that me instead of you when on a r&d journey of going back and test the data in the field, widescale. and i saw exceptions here. like neoform using show pa instead of QUALITY gear and cant hear a bell from a chime vs some people with actual real gear (not designer garbage)

remember : not made in space, what has been done by an other human can be done again by a 3rd person and either better or worse.

A>

prerequisite i went to school, they showed me a scientific methodology of making / testing / alternating circuit paths and succeded the course

my career as a field tech analyser / reparman (implies i can take things apart without schematics and rebuild from scratch by making the links using what i have learned . ie my head, so some of you dont qualify at this point but if you do :

^ i colide mesured data (with a leader 150m analog scope recalibrated using a fluke 189 multimeter of +/- 0.00025 error margin) against the appliance itself , competitors and everything i have learned from day one as to keep the thruth table true.

so i vfy me, my tools , the app , the competitor apps and unpublicised new development by going in universities library such as ETS , or melbourne or mit online. etc.. not limited to thoses.

ever compared shematics and design ? well its what i do , i have 89 GB of manual / schematics / and circuit desing automation literature as well on chip lithography or circuit litho.

also chip manufacturer reasercher's note literature

most literature i read is military and/or r&d foundry brochure on new foundry processes.

deadfunk , you are missing an important point everytime we have this convo :

electrical waves are from 0hz (0deg kel) to +infinity hz

how can you claim a physical process can occur yet not being sensed by one of the batch of senses your supposed to have ? how can you claim EVERYBODY WITHOUT EXCEPTION cannot hear full band ?? how could people only hear band pass ranges and assert it escapes all your sens and the rest of the world without exception.

a handycap right there would void your statement, why would animals hears sound that you cannot ?

its your lack of development , or retardated development stage that pin you down as you are or your sound system is complete garbage , one or the other
