Sounds like she's not moving to NDG. Its unsure if she's even coming to Montreal at all. You have to appreciate that the Federal Gov is going to spend lots of money and resources on protecting this fucking cunt. Misplaced priorities.

Of course if she does move here it is our responsibility as Humans to end her as painfully as possible.

The alternative sources are a great concept, but getting western civ into these fuels is like getting a heroin addict to drop H for methodone. Humans are creatures of habit, and sometimes they'd rather kill themselves than change their lifestyle.

Hydrogen cell technology is just out of reach (hydrogen needed to combust in an engine will only produce water as a byproduct, but our containment technology is not there yet. In order to keep H2 in a liquid fuel form you need to keep it at a temp of -250C, which isn't going to happen off a 9V battery. The other option is to keep it in gas form, but then you run the risk of pulling a Hindenburg (Boom).

I've seen some alternative fuel cells that work, like magnesium plates in salt water. A lunch box sized unit could power your stereo and hotplates for a picnic. A unit the size of a stove could power your house for a long weekend. It recharges itself when not in use and the only byproduct is milk of magnesia which is not only drinkable, it's good for your stomach. No noise, not heat, no waste. But it's still in development with only working prototypes right now.

If someone comes up with a solution to this, they'd literally save the world.

I don't know...I think the oil reserve depletion is a debatable point. Some of my college buddies are geological engineers (minerals and mining) and my alma mater (Queen's) has a solid rep as a geology and mining school. They maintain that oil wells are very hard to drain and that oil production in the earth is kind of like sweat glands on a person: It keeps sweating the black shit out. Geothermic pressure squeezes sedimentary organic compounds (not just dinosaurs!) eventually turning them into crude fossil fuel so the whole "running out" scenario is an illusioin created by those big bad oil companies. Adding water to the crude to get the last 1/3 of oil is actually very cheap as oil and water cannot physically mix, and oil rises to the top.

Of course, I have no other support for their point of view, so let's just assume they're wrong and we are depleting our oil supply at the rate described above.

Personally, I couldn't care less if we ran out of juice and Western Civ collapsed. Frankly, we deserve it for our virus-like consumption of everything.

I have my eye on the global climate. If we keep on this course, the Earth will change the terms of our lease and evict our asses by making this planet uninhabitable for homo sapiens. It's already started, and it will be far more serious than simply having our soccer moms running out of gas on the way to Loblaws. Look at the global weather. In the last year we have seen a rise in natural disasters that, had this happened 2500 years ago, would have made the Old Testament. El Nino was like the small cough that leads into full-blown pnemonia due to AIDS; it's a symptom of a larger disease.

The beautiful thing is that Earth will go on without us and life will return. This planet has had the life knocked out of it by asteroids, volcanic super-erruptions, and global earthquakes more than a few times before, and Life continued. Ironically I suspect that our major urban centres will be new oil fields in a few million years.

There's more at stake than simply money.

My experience has been that the AfterHours is similar to the club "meat market" scene, only after closing and with different intoxicants. More speed and more coke.

The rave scene is all over (E, MDMA, speed, 2CT2, adderol, etc...) but seems to be a lot younger than the after hours. Ravers seem like the "locals" and AHers seem like tourists. AHers have more money to burn, ravers usually can't afford too much.

In some ways the AH is a bit less philosophical about music and intoxication, but I've met chill people at AH and raves. I've met cock-sucking selfish cunts at both as well.

It's too easy to classify people. The reality is way too hard for the average human brain to compute. I don't think it's a shock that being a stupid dick is not a notional, racial, or religious characteristic. It's a trait of an individual.

I have friends from every walk of life and I've met fucking idiots from every walk of life.

A certain percentage of people are sperms that really should not have been the first in line for their mommy's egg. And, really, isn't that God's fault?

But anyone who claims ownership of any piece of land is missing the big picture. Even if you paid for it, you're still just renting your time here.

If you want a Lamborghini it'll cost. For 100 per hour you could maybe get a Ferrari. And yellow is rare. Most people who have the money to spend on an exotic of that callibre go with something safe like black or red. If you got enough money to buy a bannana-looking exotic car, I don't think they'll see $100 as compensation. They'll see it as a waste of time/money.

That is the price you must pay for having such elegant tastes Zed.

What about car-jacking? There will be a few Lambs out during grand prix owned by some eurotrash elite. Bust a cap in their dome, speed off knowing no cop could ever catch up, and clean the upholstry later @ The Wolf's flat.

Kill Bush, you'll have Dick Cheney in charge and while Bush may be dumb as a Texas Tittyfuck, Cheney is Capital Evil like Hitler, Stalin, or Rumsfeld.

In all honesty, keep the Devil we know in power, let him fck things up as per usual, and let the americans reap the shitstorm they elected. After they get stung by China, or some nutjob group bearing North Koreas arms, the ensuing civil war between the red and blue states will provide us with millions of US refugees. We'll probably have to kill most of them cuz they have the right to bear arms and most of them believe Canada is their birthright as the 51st to 63rd states so they'll come up here with...exectations.

As long as Hollywood gets destroyed I'm happy. Seriously, entertainment blows in George Bush's America.

You gotta address the plasticity of language, how language changes, adapts, and morphs with a culture. Look at "gay". In the 1890's it meant "happy". Now it means "homo", or Trance DJ.

Most philosophy is lost in the symantics of language. People will get lost in language.

I saw the Midsummer Nights Rave film and it sucked balls. One of the worst adaptations I'd ever seen of anything.

I'm filming another party-based series this summer. We'll be needing lots of extras, which will likely take the form of a shooting party (film, not guns) at the end of the summer. It's going to be hot and I'll post the details as they come up!

Welsh's Ecstacy is a great story, but the stories are so short! The only rave-based story (The Undefeated) is a pretty predictable story and a really plain romance. I don't know if there'd be enough substance on its own so I'm really curious to hear how your friend worked it. The corporate drug romance (Fortune's Always Hiding) would probably work really well if it were amped up and fleshed out a bit more. That story is fucking brilliant. Soccer-thug gangster falls in love with a grown-up flipper-baby and plots vengeance on the coporate pigs who approved the drug that disfigured her. The sex scenes would be really fucked up. A love story for the new century, but it does nothing for raves.

I'd love to talk to your friend too Insomniak! Its a hella good initiative.

Septima: Are you talking about a more immersionist approach to theatre? Cuz a rave would be really bad as theatre. Too loud to talk, too many people too high to say anything that is actually profound. There isn't nearly enough substance to it. But if you planted some immersionist actors in a rave setting and had them perform unbeknownst to the crowd, then you'd have the kind of guerilla theatre that could turn heads.
