Yes, I was harsh. I suppose I've grown to have much higher expectations from the MTL party scene, but this was a boring party. The security was absolutely rude, the location was as sketchy as it was remote, and the party was simply not up to the standard. If you had fun, great! I'm glad someone had a good time! I paid more than I should have for this particular product, and that is only my experience talking.
Who am I? I'm just another party-person with as much validity to my opinion as anyone else, and I've had the benefit of partying in Montreal, Toronto, Vancouver, Sydney, Melbourne, NYC, Berlin (+ Love Parade), Paris, London, Amsterdam, Ibiza, blah blah blah... So trust me, I KNOW Montreal can do better. It's why I moved here last year. It is THE best.
Now I know a lot of you have friends who helped to organize and you appreciate how hard it is to throw a party, but giving kudos for a party like that is simply doing your friends a disservice. I had one friend spinning in the 3rd room, alone, because they didn't want to open the room to the public yet. I was there early to see him and I couldn't cuz some roid-raging penis I'd see at the Dome was blocking me without so much as a reason. Cock-sucker wouldn't even look me in the eye or respond. They need to learn that their shit wasn't tight and, if they ever decide to throw another party, they should do their research and make damn sure their shit is TIGHT.
So I decided to take some insulting shots which is my way of giving a kick in the ass. What else can I do? If they can't take it, hang up the party gloves and go work for the civil service. I went to this party ready for the full-PLUR-package and they sucked all the joy out of me with their almost humerous attempts to suck every last $ from their attendee's pockets. It was a commercial nightmare. If you did like it, go and buy a ticket to Ibiza cuz it's been pretty commercial since 99.
But know this: I'm honest about everything. If I don't like something I'll tell you and sometimes feelings get hurt. But if I ever give someone a complement, you can guarantee it's legit and heartfelt. --> And MAD props to all the DJ's who showed up just for the music. You're all gifted. You transcend the promoters' collective incompetancies.

What a piece of SHIT. I have never attended a party as shitty as that. The location was in buttfuck-nowhere, it took Corkey way too long to update the info-line, security was tighter than the American Embassy in Israel (and staffed by fucking monkeys), and except for A-One's set it was as unremarkable as a Toronto party. I'm kidding! Toronto is way better than that even with the SARS and Mel Lastman.
I wish there was a way to get my money back but since there's no way those cunts would part with the tens of dollars they musy have made on this flop all I can do is NEVER attend one of these lame-ass parties again. I'd have more fun listening to one earphone in a sewer. I actually missed Infected Mush for this.
Don't worry if you didn't make it to this party. At least now I know never to attend one of these stink-fests again!

Hey Noamie! I probably spelled yo name all wrong. Forgive me. I'm cursed with a common name.
Tams will go on. I'm going to city hall this week to talk with the necessary burocrats about a permit. Otherwise I trash their offices.
Cross fingers!!!!

Not on today. Too much shitty weather, not enough support, no permit. We are working on getting legit permission to set up there cuz it won't interfere with the drums (or vice versa). Also Jean Drapeau is fucking lame-ass.
Stay tuned for big shiznit.

If it rains, we've got a roof so we'll be dry, and nobody will be there so I can work on my mixes without having to share! ;)

Bastards. I personally love CEP but ain't familliar with v2. I love that I can slide beats off by nano seconds to give a really organic feel. Great for trip hop. So, I should never update anything. Ever.

ScottyP: I've listened to your tracks and they are very solid and polished so I appreciate your kind words (thanks for not going Simon Cowell!). I'd love to get my tracks out there (as you did with the compilation) but I've always felt my tracks are more built for soundtracks than clubs/parties. I've scored for a few plays, movies and tv shows which is probably why my sound is the way it is. I just uploaded another track. More to come!

I'm using Cool Edit Pro cuz it lets me manually throw-off my beats by a few miliseconds and line up samples perfectly. (Also I think I'm too dumb to figure out how to use Cubase and Reason). I'm running CEP on my computer which has a pretty basic Audiophile sound card. My equipment is a Korg EM-1 and a Yamaha RM1X run through my NuMark DM3002x mixer. I also have 2 Vestax PDX-2000 turntables for scratching or stealing vinyl accapellos, but they're more for my bedroom dj gig.

Hi! It's so sweet to hear such good things! Aside from playing tracks to some immediate friends these tracks haven't been heard by anyone. As Jules mentioned, my name's Mike and I moved to Montreal last summer. I love the party scene in this city. I have more tracks to put up, so I hope you enjoy! Thanks again!
