Why good riddance? How did her existence ever negatively impact your life? She was a troubled woman with a voice that was a rare gift, and she will be sorely missed. I was never a huge fan of her's, and I snickered once or twice at her drug fueled escapades along with the rest or world. But it's sad to see life snuffed out so young, so pay some fucking respect where it's due.

It seems to be hard for some people to show a little respect when they clearly don't have any to begin with.

how is she any different from anyone else, there are so many others with wasted talent that don't get half as much media coverage or publicity. up and coming prodigy's that have unfortunate twists of fate you don't see them on the news, let alone face book spam forum spam etc etc about it, people die shit happens. yeah it sucks that she died but she doesn't need to be put on a pedastool for it, she wasn't some martyr dying for some great cause she was a fuckin drug addict performer

n i don't feel bad for her, i feel bad for her family and friends that had to watch her self destruct. it's just selfish, whatever the cause was she was on a downward spiral regardless

-- troubled, everyones troubled. everyone has problems, it's no justification to use drugs as an escape, there are always people willing to help and alternatives. n i'll retract my previous statement /post or whatever cause it was uncalled for.

anyway just my opinion
I'm feeling psytrance right now..

I never said her behavior was justified, nor was I defending her career; she could have done so much with a voice like she had. Personally, I think letting down thousands upon thousands of your fans because you couldn't get your shit together for a concert is just downright selfish. That being said, she was screwed up but it doesn't make it any less tragic that a 27 year old is gone from this world. And no matter what life she lead, that in itself is too young and is tragic. Respect the dead son, for you don't know anything about what her life was like.

And maybe put some though into a post before you come across sounding like a complete douche-

Just my opinion.

I didn't like Amy Winehouse. I found her voice to be good but her songs to be bland and negative (yeah, coming from an eternal pessimist, I know). Yet, respect dictates you separate the person from the tragedy. You can hate Amy Winehouse all you want but you damn well respect her passing. That's called compassion and no one deserves it more than people you don't necessarilly like. Hate her all you want for having used drugs and alienated fans but don't laugh at her death. That's just being terribly douchey.

I mean, it's the same with everyone. I was glad that Michael Jackson won't molest another kid but I wasn't GLAD HE DIED. That would be very sociopathic. And unlike some people on this board would like to believe, being a sociopath is not cool, not attractive in the least.

If I had to add a tiny tidbit, I'd say not to feel bad for her family and friends. Amy's drug use was well beyond normal logic and the only ones at that stage that could have helped her even understand what she was doing to herself was friends and family, who've done shit all and instead let her ruin herself. Not one tear goes to them.

Call me heartless, but the more I read about this (Amy's death), the less tragic I find it. Shit happens.

But yeah, being glad for someone's death's pretty harsh. Well, okay, maybe you could be glad for Hitler's, back in those days. Right?

As to not feeling bad for her friends and family: I have no idea what they did for her. If they tried anything. But I am of the opinion that there are people that are beyond any help but their own. And I don't think that people should sacrifice their own life (because figuratively, it can very well get to that) for people who won't help themselves.

Abusing drugs is pretty much committing a slow suicide attempt. And, well, while I value life very much, I don't find it sacred.
I'm feeling gleeful right now..

@sparklz i understand where you're coming from in my defense i was pretty drunk when i wrote that, i guess i was just pissed because she gets so much sympathy when there are so many others that have or is going through worse. but yeah saying i'm glad she's dead was uncalled for and disrespectful. and i do apologize.

with that said though, she did let her fans down, her friends, her family. @drnyarlathotep ? i think i got that right, but anyway i'd have to feel bad for her friends n family, god knows they would try to help her but i mean some people regarding drug use just seem to get sucked into this selfish hole where it comes to the point that they won't take advice or get help. i've seen some of her shows wasted off her ass on youtube and it boggles my mind, i personally wouldn't be cheering or be happy with a shitty sub par awful performance. i mean holdon i'm gonna try to look one up that i found a while ago...

it says booed of stage, i didnt hear any booes people were cheering, for THAT.

First of all, rehab is for quitters. Secondly, she was the most amazing crackhead ever. I would end this nice reflexion by saying this: crackheads die young. It happens. Whatever.

I'm not going to have a nervous crackdown because some (great) singer which happens to have a (fucking crack) addiction dies at 27 yo. I'm going to feed my cat instead.
