im not sure if anyone stated this as i have not read the full thread
but from what i heard there are only 75 cops who are wokring on banning smoke and giving out tickets spefically to smokers in the wrong places or however, but the thing is its 75 cops for ALL of quebec. i mean if they really wanted to freak people out and send the message that smoking will not be tolerated i would have expected them to allocate more officers to specificly ticketing smokers and the bars not abiding to the rules of non-smoking. however, i am very pleased with the smoking ban im soooooooooo sick of waking up the day after going out and my hair having that terrible smoke smell stuck in it. |

I did mention how many piggies would be sniffin' out smokers... but I was wrong for how many there would be (I thought there were only 30). Oops!
Honestly, I think this will all be for the better... smoking is sooo grade 7. |

yeah they have 75 cops for the smoking ban, but any cop has the ability to ticket you for smoking related offenses, such as being 9 metres or less from a school/government institution |

Let'$ $ee... Compare the price of natives to the price of....every other kind of cigarette. They don't cost more/less to make, it's all markup and taxes. The workers at the tobbaco companies get their salary taxed, the companies themselves are taxed on their income, the packs of smokes are taxed at the store, the store's incomes are taxed... |

yeah exactly, the natives would clean up if they banned them all together, but I find this hypocritical approach to be annoying |

as a smoker i'm torn, in all honesty i think it'll be good.
but i have a question; if a bar owner goes through all the expense of getting ventilation and a seperate room entirely or simply if they wanted to make it a smoking establishment only would that pass? i think it's gonna be an interesting summer in montreal.... |

I'm a non smoker, and I think this law is the dumbest thing ever. If you wanna go out, don't be a sissy and get used to the smoke. I also don't think it would be possible for afterhours to ban smoking, the in and outs would cause way too much ruckus. |

well I can say from experience, the few parties that had a no-smoking on the dancefloor policy (more of an honors policy but most people dealt with it), it was a much better experience dancing... |

I think the ban will be a good thing for people, if more and more cities are doing this eventually less and less people will smoke, I mean pleanlty of peolpe I know, myself included only smoke when they go out to bars, so this will help then stop entirely. Hopefully one day our society will get rid of the cigarette smoking habbit. |

im allergic to cigarette smoke( yeah i really passed test for this), i cant go to parking anymore because electro-stupid-snob people does nothing but smoke, everytime i get an allergy crisis, so this law is really nice for me. If i see someone smoke in a bar i will take his smoke and crush it down, i dont fucking care about what he will say. there is a lot of place like this in n-a and its good, i hope promoters will now make thier raves smoke free,
at least pot does not have chemical, poison agents (and i do not smoke weed) and Le D, because im allergic to cigarette smoke means i cant go out ? WTF DUDE this law is great and its about time they get it on.... |
