Pardon my n00bness but wtf is a " Départ auxiliaire sur Jack à symétrie flottante " ? I'm sure if I read the english translation of this, it'd be 100 times clearer. Heh.

Treble was super fun when I was an acid techno DJ in parties. I remember a few times I felt devilish and reduced the bass on a TB-303 intensive track and cranked the mid and treble almost to the max as I watched the people closest to the speakers sprint off the dancefloor, covering their ears as I grinned like a freaking maniac.

Treble doesn't play as nice on eardrums as bass does but it's still awesome. >:D

Good luck with your issues. I'm afraid I don't understand half of it ( owned Traktor Scratch Pro for only a month or so, still at n00b level ).

Glad to see I'm not the only one using Traktor Pro... and having issues. I'm kinda having the same issue with my HP G56 laptop running Windows 7 64-bit Home Edition and Traktor Pro 2 with Audio 10 ( with timecode CDs ).

I have Traktor's latency set decently high, have DCPI turned off in Device Manager, CPU is displayed as minimal in Traktor and yet, at random places, the software seems to freeze, creating a silent gap for a few milliseconds which isn't bad for recording but live is out of the question. My laptop barely has anything installed on it, Power settings configured as explained on the NI website and yet it still does the random freeze thing regardless of if I'm cueing, beatmatching or otherwise. It even freezes with one track playing and Traktor not doing anything else. I don't use FXs or anything else on there.

My laptop's fairly new so I plan on reinstalling Win 7 Pro instead of the shitty Home Edition it came pre-installed with.

Fred, I'm considering doing what you wrote on here although I'm unsure how I'll be able to install Win 7 without the bloatware. I'll look into Win Tiny 7 and see if I can tailor it to a driverless install like you said.

I'm at a loss with the freezing issue, can't post on the NI forums for some reason and don't know who to turn to for help. :/

Although it's nothing groundbreaking, I think Beardyman might be up to something. Sampling his own beatbox to create tracks. Not futuristic but using something as analog as sounds produced by one's mouth through a series of samplers and Kaos pads on the fly does seem a bit ahead of its time ( at least, for me it is ).

I have to agree I don't feel like music seems to be going anywhere aside from backwards with mashups of 80s songs and such.

I don't think anything can SOUND futuristic right now. I think music can LOOK futuristic though. The means that we use to create music is probably going to benefit from the propagation of bigger and better touchscreens, gestures ( à la Minority Report ). Even as we speak, there seems to be an emergence of people exploring new ways to create or mix music on the fly.

No, see that's where we're quite the opposite here. Me, I get inquisitive about it, take a step back and do some introspection to try and figure out why so many people want to rip my throat out then try to act accordingly so as to ease the tensions. I'm a bit more mild mannered, I'd much rather go with the flow on here than bitch and whine trying to paddle shit creek against the current all the time.

I don't need or feel compelled to. Confrontation is not something I look for on here but unfortunately, I'm far from being a perfect human being. I too have my pet peeves and things that also set me off. Heck, in most cases I try to respond as neutral as I possibly can but in certain cases, like I explained earlier, I'll try to adapt to the situation sometimes by being equally invective about it. It's often not the best approach, as Na described, but I guess each and everyone reacts differently to stimulus.

A few things came to mind after watching this Youtube video of Amy in concert in Belgrade a few weeks ago where she was so wasted, she would sing about 2 sentences and wander around the stage aimlessly.

1. did her entourage support her in any way ? After seeing this video, all I could think of is her agent not putting his or her foot down and saying "Amy, you can't walk on stage looking like that" and prevent her from appearing publicly in this state. Apparently her tour was cancelled after this video started circulating online but why wasn't this addressed BEFORE ? Why wasn't the tour cancelled way before that and Amy given a serious talk about professionalism ? I don't want to draw any conclusions here but it appeared to me as though the said agent would only see the monetary benefits from letting her walk on stage this fucked up. As much as Amy was hard-headed, someone should've still slapped some sense into her and tell her that from a professional standpoint, this can't be done.

2. what about Amy herself ? When 8000 of your adoring fans fill a large venue to see YOUR show and you go on stage for 15 minutes and do shit all 'cause you're too high to know what you're doing, I'm sorry to say but you are disrespecting and disappointing a lot of paying customers who usually have an unconditional love towards you no matter what terrible addiction and affliction you are going through... and this is how you show how grateful you are they are all here tonight, bought your albums, know all your lyrics by heart and are holding up huge billboards written "We love you Amy" ? Regardless of how fast you shot up to stardom and how difficult it is for you to cope ( Cobain indeed couldn't deal with it but he was professional enough to perform on stage for those who loved and supported him ), you should owe it to yourself to at least make an effort on stage to honor those who made it so that you're incredibly popular and rich and ultimately, the reason you can smoke so much crack and snort so much cocaine.

As much as Amy had talent, she clearly chose drugs and herself over ANYTHING or ANYBODY else. That, I have no respect for. Regardless of addiction and such, there are a few moment of lucidity once in a while where you should AT LEAST introspect and think about someone else but you once in a while, especially when you're in a position where you have a few millions supporters.

I'm asking this only for the sake of clarity but would it be possible in Events pages to have an " alt=DJ Something " tag in the code that displays pics of DJs so as to have the name of the DJ appear on MouseOver ? Either that or have pics appear next to each DJ's name in the list.

I know the pics are displayed in the order that they appear in the list below but when you have an festival-like event sporting 17 DJs in one room, it's kind of a pain to have to count where on the list a specific DJ is then have to count the appropriate number of images in that long line of images.

The best would be to have the image appear on the left of a DJ name in the textual list, even if it means having to scroll down a bit. Otherwise, would be cool to at least have their names show up when your mouse hovers over their pictures.

Thanks !

Speaking of lacking brain cells, if you are so displeased with this forum and its denizens, what the fuck keeps you coming back here ? Methinks you like being pissed off at people, it seems to be inebriating for you. The unadulterated feeling of insulting and telling people off is too much for you to resist. You secretly yearn for trolling when you aren't around here and you're inexorably drawn back to throw virtual feces at everyone's face. It appears to be liberating for you, like some sort of public therapy. You utilize this forum as your own hateful playground because of the lack of restraints so you can vent your daily frustrations upon unsuspecting victims just because you can, without consideration. And that empowers you 'cause that's how you roll.

I mean, I don't remember the last time you wrote "LOL" or laughed on here if it wasn't laughing about someone's supposed puny attempt at insulting you. I just feel so sad for you, really.
