Well, I've know numerous Sympatico 2nd levels, and have information on their system. I haven't checked in since last June, so things may have changed.

BUT
I don't see how they could monitor it. They supply you with PPPOE software. You don't have to use it, and you can run it fine. I used RASPPOE before using my router.

I know there's some routers out there that can't supply PPPOE properly, regardless of what firmware you get. Same with cable. Dell routers? Forget using them with a Terayon 1.0 modem. Their mac's are not compatible with the dhcp table. Terayon 1.0-1.9 with a PS2 network card. Fuck it. Not going to work.

But thats not them booting you off.
