Ginger Snaps made enough money with the first one to make a sequel? Barf.

Only upcoming movie I would make an effort to see here, is the Ring 2

Ginger Snaps has a sequel AND a prequel is in the works. It's a massive hit world-wide. Personally, I find the original is one of the best werewolf movies ever made. It deserves to be up there with American Werewolf in London and The Howling.

Cabin Fever was great. It was soooooooo messy!

Hellboy, I dunno. I never read the comics and I haven't really been following anything on it other than suddenly seeing the pictures and thinking "Wow, this looks good!"

I've heard that there's more of an emphasis on "dark" things and it's going to be borderline on being a horror movie, which is good in my books!

I'm downloading the trailer right now actually. Benicio Del Toro has quickly become one of my favorite actors, so I'm pretty certain that I'm gonna like this movie...

I'll go through my stuff and see if I can find stuff :D

*update* I just watched the Hellboy trailer, and I have to say that even if the movie is "all action" with not much horror, it looks DAMN fine! Only one shot where the obvious CG was distracting, and I'm hoping that it doesn't ruin the movie... Looks fairly solid, the makeup effects are freakin' amazing!

i have to agree with Ian, i somehow don't think Hellboy's gonna do overly well, but, i'm excited for it, the comics are great.

There are like 5-6 Ring movies, actually. The original Ringu, Rasen (first attempt at Ring2 which sucked), there was Ringu 2 which was better, Ring 0: Birthday (a prequel), there were 2 1-season run TV shows and an anime based on Rasen that was a lot better than the movie.

The third book in the trillogy is aparently very Matrix-like in that we find out that all the other movies turn out to be a super-evolved computer simulation designed to test the possibility of the supernatural and how to analyze it scientifically, and in doing that, the computer reality "comes out" and starts affecting the real world.

It's funny, most people figgure that since I love horror movies I like "dumb" movies with no plot and no story and just mindless blood and violence. (granted sometimes those are fun)

But in general, the people who like horror movies are the people who need the MOST effort put into a movie to please them, and they're very, VERY picky about things. If there's the slightest thing wrong with any of the important things in a horror movie (plot, acting, special effects, dialog) then it's gonna have a hard time getting the slightest bit of recognition.

Ok, the drunk is gonna stop rambling now because I suddenly read back and have no idea what I'm typing about.

I want to have a movie night damnit!
