I just got a wireless router and every once in a while is disconnects me and i have to reconnect. Does anyone know any ways to solve this problem... My router is a 'G' standard but this computer has a 'B' one but the router should be compatible. I mean it works for 5 minutes and then goes BOOM off and I have to reconnect.

Microbytes you say....

And you say you TRUST this person to know a monitor from his ass...?

Routers connect one way with the modem: PPPoE is built into the rom. It's got a whole controll panel and stuff to configure it. Its not like it's a new protocol or some strange, untested method, it's a friggin' standard. Wether it's on Linux, MacOS, WinXP or a router ROM, PPPoE is PPPoE.

he was in comp sci with me at dawson.
he's had returns on the router, and he's looked it up as being a known problem that sympatico causes problems with certain routers.

and i know sympatico uses PPP over Ethernet.. but that doesn't mean there can't be incompatibilities.. (too many i's in that freaking word)
