Ok. I have a dlink. It runs great.
Videotron works fine too. Its dynamic ips for VT. The only possible way for them to know its a router is if they reference the mac address to the router, and most good ones can clone any mac address.

With all that said,
Noah if you use a dlink, go onto Dlink's website and download the lastest firmware. Install that. A tip for wireless with dlink, set your internal ips static. I donno why but it helps a lot.

I run a Dlink 614+ wireless router. As long as your signal strength is good, you're fine.

If the router is disconnecting from sympatico, keep refreshing the status page in the software, and check if it says if it lists an ip. Chances are its not disconnecting. If it is, do a hard reset on the router (push the reset button in for 30 seconds and let go). Returns to factory defaults.

Salesmen at computer stores hear heresay. I don't care how many creditials they have. I worked technical support for ROGERS (videotron equivalent in Ontario/NB) for 2 years. I have had network admins calling in saying its our network stopping their routers. I proved to each and every one that its not.

Just trust me on this. Symaptico doesn't block routers. They offer routers for the service.
Videotron discourages routers. From what I hear they try to seek legal action if you use one unauthorized (read your EUA).

Audi's might be a little overpriced in this case.

I stand by my other choices for these reasons

Honda: AMAZING ENGINES! They go forever, and have great power.

Toyota: Great engines too. Solid bodies, and a very smooth ride.

Jetta: Amazing on gas, quick, and spacious.

On the bad side, older honda's (pre 96 and back moreso) had major issues with rusting on the fenders, and near the back bumper. So be careful if you're getting an older one

Toyota: likes to guzzle more gas than you'd think. But still nothing overly high. Definately economical.

Jetta: getting/replacing parts can be a bitch. But chances are if you hunt around, you can find great mechanics to do it well and cheap. I know a number of them in Ottawa, but not yet in mtl.

definately. accords are great. nice mods available for it too.
I'd look into an accord, a tercel, or a jetta

Just spend a lil more and get a Jetta. Solid car. The new ones are incredible on gas
