It said by 2015-2017, Facebook will loose 80% of it's users

The study was made by 2 PhD candidates in the Princeton's Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering. Asspull theory?

Since 90% of [ rave.ca ] users and events migrated over facebook, what will happen?

HAHAHAHA

I think you twisted this a bit. CIA and other secret services probably monitor the facebook pages of their persons of interest, twitter and the other stuff too.

We call this open sources.

I guess you probably doing the same with your ex boyfriend, right? But don't feel wrong, everybody do that ;-)

I think that Facebook is just a public software, not a technology by itself. Radar, stealth, missile, jet engines, computers fit more the description of technology.

Anyway...

I don't think the guy that made facebook or why it was created is connected to the military.

Is just a normal dude that had an idea, like the dude that made Myspace, facetime or snapchat.

Simple as that

BTW PEOPLE, WHAT THE FUCK WITH THOSE GROSS PICTURES???!!

Never really understood why people left for Facebook either. Do you really want to be tagged on a picture of you, high as fuck, when familly, co-worker ect can see it! Also, Rave [ .ca ] is an underground website, not Facebook.

But there's other facts that happened.

- EVERY new persons got assaulted, challenged and mock. Not really a warm, PLUR welcome. Do you really expecting these people to stay?

- No new updates since a long time.

- Very weak moderation in forum. Actually, you were able to insult and degrade people for 220 pages long without any consequences.

- No more publicity about rave. ca in parties and stuff. Personnaly I didnt see any since 2009-2010

- Point 1 and 3 made a bad reputation for rave [ .ca ]

I guess people like facebook because it made everything (mail, live chat, pictures, sending files, games, ect) centralised in 1 place.

Besides, the map is entirely inconclusive. It's not like any kind of radiation, particle or electromagnetic, is going to make it through 3,000 miles of dirt, across mountain ranges, to freakin' Kansas and the "middle-east".

I'd be a lot more worried about the stale metro air.

And as I mentioned, nothing can be done about it. There is no deployable technology capable of remediating the situation.

It's like panicking because the sun will rise around 7:00 AM.

Inconclusive...

Wait, wait! You probably got a PhD in nuclear physics and you're expert in radioactivity. You also probably been in the US/Alaska to take sample of radiations and observe their effects on the wildlife (with pictures) to make your conclusions, right?!

They create drama? Yes of course, Those signs of radiation poisonning probably appeared by magic! They never dropped 400+ tons of radioactive water in the ocean...it was simply to create drama to write about it.

[DOUBLE FACEPALM]

No, we can do nothing about the current situation caused by the 2011 tsunami. But people should be informed about whats going now and dangers that can make matters worst. It was because of international pressures that the process of removing those radioactive rods from the pool was speeded up. The danger of another typhoon in this region is real and it will have disastrous effects on the remaining Fukushima nuclear power plant.

No, we can't build a wall of lead on the west coast and no technology can fix it but I think people should be informed and evacuated during those radiation spikes and that's vital information

I understand your feelings.

Well, first, it's part of life. The sooner you realize this, the better you'll feel.

If I can do a cross-reference between your example and my own; In the army, people stay at the same place for more or so 3 years, after they left, go to "reg force" or go to another place and younger one's take their places (then this circle happen again). I really miss some of them today but IT'S THEIR PATH OF LIFE. The same thing happened with most of my "rave friends" here.

Like you, I still enjoy going to parties with friends today (well, the one's that still there). But when I compare with the past times, like when I started, I feel something isn't right or missing. I don't know how but this really affect my thought time to time.

Yes some people have gone too deep, some of them never came back. What we can do anyway?!

The thing WE can do is, carry their legacy, the positive one's and our positive thoughts too and maybe it will influence others to do the same. Whatever if you want it or not, the scene evolved (was evolving and still evolving). It's a thing that old ravers like us need to do.

PLUR is still alive in my hearth and will always be, even if it become irrelevant to the ravers of today.

AND I WILL ALWAYS WEAR THAT FUCKING TOM&JERRY TIE!

Oh yeah!!!

What are the comments you actually posted Wutang? It will be nice to see both sides of the medal just for the record.

But yeah, if you simply asked why the Fb volunters tickets was 50$. It's overreating...(a lot).

Also like Nathan said, maybe the promoter is just a bit stressed with everything going on.

Anyway, go to the festival, im sure it's nothing if you simply asked this question. Talk to the promoter if you see it (haha good luck, hes probably running everywhere) and say it was just a question, no insults involved.

First, when I heard about this drug about 2 years ago, I thought it was an urban legend, too disgusting to be true but sadly it's a real nightmare in Russia.

Krokodil drug (Desomorphine) is a derivative of morphine, similar to Heroine in term of effects. Last shorter but come at 1/10 of the cost. The process of making is similar to Meth.

About 1.2 million people are addicted to this.

It's not all, this drug will literally eat you alive, no joke!. People that take this usually live no more than 2-3 years after they start.

There's some video about people going to the hospital, it's in russian but you get what's going on and see the damage this drug do on the corpse...I mean body.

DO NOT WATCH THIS IF YOUR A SENSIBLE PERSON! NSFW

suggestion of mine: INCINERATEUR ROSEMONT, 1295 Des Carrieres (metro Rosemont). The "Nye 6tem Coalition : Tekno Nouvel An" happen there. 2 big industrial style rooms. Maybe you can contact the promoters to have the contact info of the owner and ask about the experience with that place.

I agree with what most people said: The rave scene is fine but most of our social network have migrated.

It is at the point that even Noah don't put Gazebo events in to the calendar... :-/

It's sad for me, I like rave [ .ca ] it was very nice back the dayz and full of life. It was THE underground rave network, our community. It was special to be part of it, that people from the same culture, same passions connect together and organize events.

To be saved, reforms need to be done (new version, new app, iphone friendly, be more visible ect) to have advantages over facebook. If there's no motivation and actions done, it's gonna be over;

The rave scene will live but not rave [ .ca ] :-(

I've been watching this situation too. I'll try to explain my point of view on this...

-They are still parties happening during the weekends but less than before.

-Even less during the cold seasons.

-Many promoters (But not all) post events on Facebook but not on rave [ .ca ] or only partial info

-Almost all the new members got instant trolled in the forums, making them rage quit or loose interest.

-Since the activities on rave [ .ca ] is quite low, it make the other people loose interest about it.

Yep the rave [ .ca ] of 2000-2008 that was full of life is now quite calm.

It's now all lost if some innovative solutions are developed to make people visit more (live chat, new app, new version etc). Some promotion about it should be done in parties, events and stores to increase the population of new members. Moderators should be more strict about drama and disrespect between members in forums, those moderators should be visible also, like MODERATOR under there names.

This is just few ideas, I'm sure there's many more if people contribute. But something need to be done, that's for sure
