Ha so I guess he really was DJ Turbo

But for real, you've got to be fucking dumb to go 150kmh on Gouin especially in the winter. Just a few days ago I was going about 65-70 on the street and I let off the gas because it was getting tight.

For those that don't know Guoin is right along the guoin river that seperates montreal and laval. It's basically a 2 lane street with oncoming traffic. The street is tight and twisty considering it borders a river. There are very few lights, mostly stops which are a bitch because people always come out far to see if traffic comes and because the roads are twisty. And the roads themselves are just in shitty condition, like pot-holes and "bumps" everywhere.

I dunno I checked out the video on the presonus website and aside from having psytrance as the background music it seems fairly run of the mill.

Like the work flow looks pretty simple and straightforward, but it really doesn't bring anything new to the table, it looks like a stripped down version of ableton if you ask me.

I'm not gonna lie I kinda made a deal with my girlfriend and my end of the bargain was to get myself a Brazilian or whatever you call it when you shave your nether regions wax.

Like it fucking hurts like hell. And it's kinda embarrassing cuz having hot wax and baby powder poured on my soldier kinda made him retreat back to camp.

But hey it was actually pretty awesome for like a week after that, and it didn't itch when it grew back. Apparently if you do it often it doesn't hurt as much and it will thin out your hair a lot.

Like actually having a laser make contact... I dunno man that kinda scares me.

Fuck when I started producing I remember cubase 2 going up to like 2000$. Am I just delusional or did the price of software really go down?

Just like you can spend ungodly amounts of money on a real 303, or just get Phoscyon or ABL and get something that most people couldn't discern from the real deal if you run it through an analog tube emulator..

I dunno man, I used to think along the same lines, but I just got a Virus C and I can't find any vst which even comes close to sounding as awesome as this thing does. Obviously 99% of people can't tell the difference, but to those of us who've been training our ears for years it's night and day. It's like the difference between 192 and 320 kbps. Me and you could probably tell the difference from the next room, but 99% of people haven't been trained. But in the end it's not about fooling 99% of those people, but impressing that 1%.

Like look at boards of canada, they could technically make their music using only plug-ins, but there's a certain saturation or "organicness" to their music that's impossible to recreate. Like look at hardfloor too, fuck I probably own the best hardware "remake" of the TB-303, but I still can't touch the original sound that comes out of a 303.

Anyways, I don't know there's just something about having an actual piece of hardware in front of you too. I can sit in front of a synth for hours and hours and not get bored, but after staring at a screen for 1-2 hours with little fonts and tiny virtual knobs I start to get a headache, it almost de-motivates me.

haha cool just putting it out there. Ha after reading your point #3 I think we'd get along. One thing I've learnt is that people are fucking stupid and are likely to fuck up almost anything. If you want something done properly man a lot of the times you really have to do it yourself.

hey félicitation.

Mais just une question, tu veus louer just le system de son, ou cherche tu un dj pour jouer desus aussi?

Anyways my advice to you would be to hire a dj and let him/her worry about bringing the sound up there. Although I don't really know you I could offer my services. I work for one of the biggest Montreal wedding dj companies (Ti Amo Productions) so I'd be capable of doing the actual wedding thing. Let me know if your interested at all.

^right on. In the end it's not your plug-ins but how you use them that make the difference. I've heard a lot of artists doing things like running sounds through tape decks, or old rare vintage gear. I remember one artist who would run all his sounds through his virus. What your looking for is your own distinct sound. And I don't give a shit what anyone sais every piece of equipment you use will taint your sound in a different way. No "emulation" of a classic synth will sound just like the original. And no two plug-ins are equal.

Your best bet is to just buy shit as you need it. If you hit a wall while producing and go: fuck I really need a synth that gives me better bass, or I'd really like to add a vocal track here then go ahead and get that. Avoid impulse purchases, and research the shit out of everything you buy. The more you start producing and researching the more you'll come to realize what you need.

But remember man, in the end it all comes down to what's in between your chair and your keyboard.

Have you tried confronting her about it, like just letting her know that it really sucks when you make plans, and you ditch other people or plans to chill with her, only to be stood up?

I'd see how she responds to that and then decide what to do. Maybe she's just a scatter-brain and isn't intentionally doing this. Like I am late for everything, but I just have no conception of time, honestly I think it could be a medical condition. I think it's her intention that counts.

Mind you like is she usually just late, or does she more often then not lie and just not show up?

I have one of those george foreman grills at my place, it's a bit older, it's this model ----> [ www.foodline.com ]

and it's a giant piece of shit due to the fact that it's ridiculously easy to burn yourself with it, and there's no stupid power button or switch. Your basically limited to touching a little piece of plastic at the top to open and close it. Touching anything else will result in sever burning.

But yeah get a grill. grilled sandwiches are awesome, filling and pretty fast to use. You can whip yourself together an awesome sandwich using some left over chicken from the night before in like 2 minutes and ciao there's lunch.

ha i read that^ in nightlife and it made me smile.

Get whatever makes you feel the most creative, something that makes you want to make music.

I can't stand the software only route though, if I were you I'd invest in a decent midi-controller, a sound-card and a good pair of headphones, dl a sequencer and some vsts and start with that. Then through research and experimentation you'll figure out what you need. I honestly have anxiety attacks if I have to do everything with a mouse and a keyboard, but everyone is different. With a keyboard or midi controller you have the opportunity to be more hands on.

I just really feel bad for black guys who might happen to have pretty small dicks. Like being that their black women must expect them to have some sort of package no?

Like if they're asian and they whip it out it's not much of a disappointment, and they can move like super fast so they can make up for it hopefully.

But if your black and your less endowed it's like craving an oh Henry bar and getting half a Twix. How do you deal with that?

Prices right now are probably the highest they've been in 6-7 years maybe. The recent bust at the Indian reservations + the hell's angels again really cut our supply.

Just be patient man, everybody I know is dealing with price hikes. Come october, november all the good outdoor sativa should come on the market and that should drive the prices down a little.
