 Coolness: 221775 | So yeah, i'm trying to assign the freaken knobs to a VST or an effect and it just doesn't respond.. should i throw the controller in the trash or am i too much of a noob to figure it out.. some of the knob's seem pre-assigned and that's great but i'd like to swap a few.
any suggs ? |

 Coolness: 201235 | you put ableton into 'midi' mode. click 'midi' in the top right hand corner. CHoose the parameter you want to control, then move the knob you want to use, then get out of midi mode. The oxygen8 sometimes acts glitchy though. |

 Coolness: 685600 | you've also got to have the controller in the right mode sometimes (at least on my Oxygen 49 you do)
You should have a +/- button that says Preset; on the 49 Ableton works best when you have it set to P10 |

ok, on the keyboard you should have some of the keys labeled.. one will be PRESET + and one will be PRESET - push the Advanced button and change the preset untill you've got P10 and then press Advanced again to switch back to regular mode (at least I think that's how it works, if it doesn't work like that try holding the Advanced button and pressing the keys) |

 Coolness: 73095 | also if I remember right, you can assign individual knobs to a specific midi cc. So you crack open the vst manual, figure out what midi cc number the parameter your trying to control is, then you can assign the knob to that specific cc. But ableton is like super midi friendly, Scotty has your answer right there. |

If not, go in your preferences and activate your controller as a remote device input in the MIDI/Controller tab of your prefs. |

 Coolness: 164810 | WARNING your gear might be broken! i have a oxygen 8 and the USB Virtual midi part wont work at all! BUT i can still use midi ! so what you need to do is get an audio card with MIDI INPUT!
mine (hercules dj mp3 crappy shit) HAS IT ! HA! so yeah im guessing you have the old oxygen8 and i dont know anyone who still has one that works properly(unless you use the midi output not the usb) sorry to bring the bad news ! |

Seriously, so far 2/4 of their products have crapped out on me in one way or another. Mind you I suggest their new axiom controllers. I just bought the Axiom 49 with semi-weighted keys and the "MPC" style pads and it's a pretty solid/tight midi controller. 250$ new (only beef is they don't sell you the power adapter with it so your forced to use the fucking thing through usb unless you buy an after market adapter somewhere) Producing anything on the oxygen 8 just became really annoying after a while cuz you can't really play any solid piano on it, minus a few simple synth leads or bass lines thus why I sold it to you, actually I kinda feel bad being that apparently they are flawed. |

Now the only way is with midi... and because I don't have the AC adapter for it, I get the power from a USB port. i think it's a true piece of junk but meh.. don't see why it wouldn't let itself be automated in ableton |

| Coolness: 164810 | Moi jai reussi a lutiliser dans Ableton live! mais comme jdisais jai un MIDI IN/OUT sur ma carte de son ! (enfaite stun Mp3 Hercules Controller ak une carte de son pis un shitload de in et outs)
bref branche ton Keyboard en usb (pour qui allume) pis utilise le midi (check le manuel pour les cc etc) si sa fonctionne pas (yallume pas) essaye un AC adapter :) good luck! |
