After what happened the last time, I no longer make it a practice to bash babies. They said, that it was a bouncing baby boy; apparently you are not supposed to take that literally.

Also joining us on this momentous occasion battling with breaks will be the Broken crews’ very own Melon and RoTo (aka Rhys Taylor). I am informed that these two fine gentlemen, or “selectas” in you will, plan to “drop dope beats” which will undoubtedly cause the patrons of said event to climax in a frenzy of “booty shaking”.

Consider this a roll-call for all of you out there who want to help us support two of the coolest kids on the block.

The flyer is out, however in an effort to save costs, we did not print that many and they are on plain white paper. Clearly we need as much support as possible and what with every flyer printed generally being representative of 0.1 people (i.e. if one were to print 1000 flyers, that promoter can assumedly expect 100 attendees to said event; this formula is by no means infallible as there are other variables at play), if you see or find a flyer, why not save it and make copies? Why not write down the info and pass the flyer onto your ravey compadres? Why not save the image shown above and email it to any and everyone that you know who may or may not be interested?

Any and every effort is appreciated for this event, as all who are associated are donating their time and talents. Please help us overwhelm Seb and Val with the keen sense of love that this community is capable of.

I was just listening to the recording of MayDay and I doing a little Freak and See teaser last Friday at Blue Dog and I must say that she made me look quite silly. With MOAB tracks, quick logical cuts, and skills to pay the bills and then some, MayDay has unknowingly forced me to dedicate all of this week to practicing in the studio so that I can afford myself the opportunity to represent this Saturday. I will try to keep up, but I have a feeling that the crowd will be shouting, "MAYDAY!"

By the way, if you would like the chance to play the home version, MayDay's new CD, "Shock and Awe" will be available at a reasonable price.

I went to Play De Record yesterday and robbed them of their ammunition so that tonight alongside the Oscillate crew at Club Cream (T.O.) I could practice throwing down the bombs. On May 3rd I will be the super sharp shooting complicated assassin ready to blow up the spot. I already know it will be challenging keeping up with MayDay, but I've never been one to back down to a challenge.

Nimi,

I do apologize for the +18 policy in effect. This should not be taken personally, as I do love what you add to the vibe and I look forward to seeing you at all of the less strict events that I am involved in. You are a beautiful force of energy whose undying support of underground drum and bass events is certainly appreciated.

Unfortunately as with most committee resolutions, the decision to enforce the +18 rule was arrived at organically through an extremely passionate debate that in the end was left unresolved. The final consensus was that we would arbitrarily discriminate against those persons under the age of eighteen based on a recognizable leitmotif present within the underground scene, the crowd seems to be getting younger and we have to put our foot down somewhere.

Do not think for a second that I believe that once one has turned eighteen and officially become an “adult” that they are suddenly responsible. I am twenty-four and still do not consider myself an adult in the strictest sense of the word. And also do not for a second think that I believe that everyone can easily be placed within generally categories that do justice to the unique characteristics that make up them an individual. What a silly thing to suggest. The fact of the matter is that there are a few bad seeds out there that ruin it for the whole bunch and this policy is the Band-Aid solution that we have arrived at.

Long ago there was Maus spinning the d to the n to the b, and doing it up proper like it was nobody’s business. Sadly she has since turned towards the four/four, but whatever for?

In the next generation of MTLdnb, Miss Bliss is currently in the process of taking the Montreal jungle scene by storm, but she cannot possibly be the only female junglist in the five one four who is representing; or, could she?

I apologize if I am guilty of intellectual property theft. I was merely suggesting that I would prefer it if this hedonistic pursuit did not result in absolute debauchery.

Though I am quite sure that I have heard the phrase used elsewhere, big up to the Shalom Production crew for coining such a succinct apothegm.

I think we should insert nap-time somewhere into the agenda. Following a nice glass of warm milk, everyone at the party should lie down and take a short but well deserved nap. After a half an hour everyone is gently brought back into consciousness by the sounds of Bukem (or someone Bukem-esque). The result will be a revitalized group of party-kids and promoters alike ready to continue the event with a new found energy.

"Sleepy in Da Jungle"

Energize.

The one known as Miss Bliss will be doing a tag team with accomplice tonight as well; this is not to be missed.

Door tax will be ridiculously cheap at two dollars (the money will go towards those who are giving up their precious sleeping hours for your hours of enjoyment).

...

Also, if anyone knows of a vehicle that can be used to move gear between the hours of now and nine, please get in touch with me at 514.771.9018.

See you tonight at MTL's longest running jungle/dnb night, Junglist Friday's. Get there early, it is going to be bumpin'.
