So... I was talking to Sixteen Armed Jack earlier, and he was telling me something crazy about spinning a 100% 16AJ set... and then KGBkid says something about cutting x amount of specials... Rcola then says, "I think I will only play unreleased dubs"... Krinjah has been making around ten tracks a day!... Alor is spinning on Final Scratch, so you know that she is coming with the next level... of course, MayDay is not to be outdone seeing as she is the "Queen of the jungle" to quote Loco... Saigon comes with the wickedness every time… and Marcus is the don; period.

Do you need any other reasons?

As far as I was concerned, Soundmurderer destroyed the place. While he is not necessarily that skilled of a disc jockey per se, he certainly is a top selector.

I am curious as to who all of those people were who were getting down to the sounds of hardcore mash-up ragga jungle. I certainly hope that they know about Asphalt Jungle, because many of the persons on the bill list Soundmurderer as one of their main influences.

As the first Asphalt Jungle came to a close (at ten in the morning), the organizers turned to one another and in unison said, "We have got to do this again next year."

Yes, the first Asphalt Jungle was quite good... It is a shame that it will pale in comparison to this years' version.

With the quality of talent as high as it is across the board, the timeslots for Asphalt Jungle were indeed difficult to organize. What the attendees of this event should understand is that throughout their respective sets, each selector will cause the party to climax in his or her own way pretty much at will. From the first dj who will drop at midnight, to the last scheduled dj set to touch down at 09:00am, the dopeness, the hypeness, the super def grooveness, will continue to subsist leaving the patrons little cause to show up any later than midnight and leave any earlier than 10:00am; you have been warned.

The aforementioned overall hypeness notwithstanding, at the midpoint of the party, we will all be brought back to the music’s original organic roots when Kali and Dub acting as instruments of nature, make you feel all right the way only live reggae can.

I can empathize; but as I am sure the members pf production companies such as Kirk6 would agree, is that not essentially the reason why we organize these events in the first place? To really offer something different to the party people in the place was our intention all along, and I think that Asphalt Jungle achieves its goal. I am so anxious for March 20th to arrive.

But in the meantime, why not relax and unwind, ‘cause I have something that I know you will rewind.

After having downloaded Sixteen Armed Jack’s dubs, I started to seriously consider whether the MTL junglists are actually ready for this sort of mash-up madness. I am currently waiting on confirmation from our lawyers to determine if our insurance will cover unleashing this sort of insanity into the dance. Until such time patrons are to be advised that Cognitive Vibe assumes no liability for the necessary therapy sessions that will be needed in order to recover from Asphalt Jungle II.

Memorable Saigon MTL moments:
The inaugural introduction: iDJ's Summer Breeze, a hot sweaty (not too breezy) venue in the middle of some sketched out neighbourhood right next to an old overgrown mini-putt course. Saigon steps up like the badman that he is, and tears the roof off the place; the MTL junglists do not know what hit them.

New Years madness: Featured in the line-up of two New Years Eve parties in one night, Saigon comes correct like it is nobody's business. The MTL junglists are hooked.

Asphalt Jungle I: The first annual Asphalt Jungle, Saigon steps up and represents alongside, Krinjah, MayDay, Jacky Murdah, Ammo, and accomplice, in what was later said to be the best party of the year. Saigon is hooked.

Blue Dog: After hooking up with accomplice, Saigon decides to move to Montreal to experience the greatest summer of his life (if you have ever lived in Montreal for a summer, you will know what I am talking about). To set off the summer right, Junglist Fridays at Blue Dog was the place to do it. The line-up for the night, accomplice, Saigon, DJ K, Krinjah; 'nuff said.

Countless underground parties: I'm telling you, it is all about Montreal in the summer.

Summer Breeze: The return. There was a dnb side of things that night, but the cops put a stop to that. Before they arrived however, it was insanity; accomplice, MayDay, Krinjah, KBGkid, Saigon. Let's just say that it was probably a good thing that the cops showed up because that party was dangerous!

More loft parties: As mentioned earlier, Montreal in the summer; period.

End of days: With the summer coming to a close, Saigon hit Blue Dog once more before heading home to the T-Dot, only this time he rinsed out the tracks that he produced during his stay. All those who were in the place were better people for having attended.

Autumn: Saigon hits Blue Dog for a little teaser after his triumphant return home. The response is massive as Saigon lights it up.
March 20th marks the return of greatness to the decks in Montreal. Saigon, alongside stellar performers such as Marcus Visionary, Sixteen Armed Jack, KGBkid, Alor, MayDay, Rcola, Krinjah, and accomplice; big 'tings a gwan. Don't miss out.

Making noise; download and be merry.

Sean Saigon is one of the many fine young performers who will be making an appearance at this year's edition of Asphalt Jungle.

Named the “Ragga Jungle Don” by the dnb don himself, Marcus Visionary (another honourary Asphalt Jungle guest), though he lays his head in Toronto, Saigon's lust for life and enthusiastic drive to insert his sound into the minds’ of the masses, made his transition into the Montreal lifestyle last summer, a breeze. When he departed it can honestly be said that he left a hole in the heart of our community.

It cannot go left unsaid that his hiatus from the drum and bass capital did wonders for Saigon, upon his return to Toronto, Saigon exploded onto the scene earning himself a weekly residency at afterhours club System Soundbar alongside marquee players; Ryan Ruckus; Lush; and Mystical Influence. This, as well as frequently packing parties for Front Left Productions, Saigon has indeed been busy, but this has not stopped him from, in true ragga junglist soldier fashion, cutting dub and after dub that make the bodies bounce and parties pump.

After a triumphant return to Montreal last fall at Blue Dog's Junglist Fridays, Saigon is more than ready to come with the wickedness at Asphalt Jungle on March 20th. Are you ready?

Wow, now that is what I call being defensive. Perhaps you should look within and question as to why you consistently resort to threats of violence to my person when all I did was string a series of words together that can in no way physically harm you. When you operate on such a defensive level, it exhibits a weakness that I know you do not wish to bare. You are standing naked and everyone is laughing at what is not there.

You want respect? You have to deserve respect in order to receive it. Respect is a right, not a privilege; earn it.

There are a plethora of reasons why I did not, and will not, book you; but then, there is an infinite number of performers who I will also not book. I do not feel the need to explain to those particular persons whatever my reasons may be, nor should I; likewise with yourself.

And you are right, why am I even posting here trying to bring the conversation back to discussing reasons as to why individuals should patronize the event in question? I am sure that you can handle the task of marketing your performances; you have done a fine job alienating your audience thus far, keep up the good work.

Even when Hooked 2 was scheduled on the same day, I was not worried. No disrespect intended, but as I said to Steve Lalla, "It does not make me even bat an eye to see that Sase, Corey K, Stabba and Galaksy are all playing on the same night, as not one of these disc jockeys jock the discs that will be jocked at Asphalt Jungle". To put it short, these two events are not in the same category as one another.

Notice that everyone on the line-up of Asphalt Junlge is a producer, i.e. the majority of the tracks that you will hear at Asphalt Jungle will be being played for the first time (and many will only be played on that night as many of the selectors are cutting dubplate specials). Most of the tunes will not be released, and if they are, it will not be for quite sometime that they are available to record buying massive.

Plain and simple, Asphalt Jungle is not your ordinary everyday dnb party that happens on any given day, Asphalt Jungle is something different, something special, something unique. As was the first Asphalt Jungle, as will be this Asphalt Jungle, as will be all of the future Asphalt Jungles to come. I truly believe in this event, and I urge each and everyone out there to recognize and realize.
