I'd propose a representative tax orientation spending system where instead of voting for a person, which makes no sense anymore, we'd vote by assigning a portion of our tax money towards programs/goals that we believe in and are furthermore allowed to withdraw a portion of our taxes from programs/goal we do not believe in. Since people are often so upset about all the tax money they spend, I think those same people would be more inclined to have a say in the way the country is run by deciding where a portion of their money went. |
