hmmm, so live acts would be the best then.. strobes i agree it's a nice effect if its not over used and its something thats lacking at some raves.. but it also depends on the genre thats playing at the time too.. uhmm see the problem i see with darksy is not everyone wants to hear it, most people want fullon or whatnot i like dark psy but at a rave it can sound all the same if its not good i find as well tbh im pretty surprised that alot of people like chiptune i didn't expect it haha i dont think i heard it at new years unfortunately though. and if you guys have any more suggestions please throw em out there ! |

twilight psy and dark psy is not the same, i like the dark sounds, when the tracks are more minimal... no useless fluff, no 542 rising sounds that go nowhere, just good beat with effecient atmosphere. as well as what you guys posted it's the difference in making 10 people happy opposed to 1 one person could want lets say ambient dub and 10 others could hate it, know what i mean ? then again this survey isn't just for the forums but i want a good starting point what i heard sounds like its more for morning or early night sets it doesn't sound as "energetic" to be played during the middle of the night |

| Coolness: 66640 | no need for anger on "stuck up fanboys who want one style" variety is key, but the thing is it does lack energy, it's not about one style, u want one style go to dubmachine or psy parties. i'm not talking down to glitch but show me a song that in the middle of the night u hear it and you're like " yeahhh!!! " start bumpin and dancing, if glitch can give that then there is no reason for it to not be played in the middle of the night.
music should be a sort of rhythm you can connect with on any level to create the "vibe" of a dancefloor, something that you want to sit down but its just too damn good to waste chilling on a couch or whatnot, regardless of the genre it should bring insight and a sense of not only spirituality but an infatuative (sp? made that up) energy that brings the people together in one night, a feeling people share on the dancefloor. one of those nights you don't want to forget if the people want chiptune they get chiptune they want glitch they get glitch it's about what people want, as well as what can deliver it's all about the experience and it takes alot more than pretty deco and decent sounds to achieve that ..@ cutter head see if the people love it why not ! if you can throw down any genre/song and have the people go crazy all the better, thats what im trying to say, genre's at raves have gotten to clustered, too much of one thing. if you can switch it up and keep the patrons happy then wtf not, true story |
