If you use a program for fun or to learn it then it should be free... And yes last I looked free copies were available thanks to the "Challenge Of Reverse Engineering" (CORE) group who seem to be good at changing a bunch of 0's to 1's and vice versa which make the programs work... |

Both editors blend audio, though Vegas is far more nimble at it. Premiere is a heavy duty application that's more useful if you plan on doing post-production work with the rest of the Adobe Suite.
