Since Facebook came out everyone is paranoid about their privacy issues. I guess it's something to worry about and peoples heads like going in circles over stupid things. Some terrorist might use your information or something. It's crazy and people are really delusional. Even my aunt (who wanted to come see this movie), didn't like that fact her face appears on Facebook when people search her name. Give it up. Your face isn't more interesting then anyone else's.

Chances are if you didn't want to be in the movie, Antonino would have not put you in the movie. For some reason everyone thinks they are a super stars or something. The trailers are YOUTUBE type videos... I think I'm going to start filming with a small camera stuff everywhere I go and post it on YOUTUBE. They were videos made to LEARN how to use some software (whatever you make movies in, Adobe Premiere or IMovie). Over a million videos are uploaded every day on YOUTUBE, many of them like Antonino's. The whole WEB would not work if people had to get permission to say or post everything they do.

As for the money issue. I don't think Antonino is making any money off the video at all. From what I understood he is making it because he wanted to learn how to make a video and it was a good idea to make a video of the people of the website and the nightlife scene. It's a DOCUMENTARY and I hope to see it on MVGROUP or a similar site in the future or somewhere people of the world could download it and see what is happening around this city. My family missed the screening because it was cancelled and since they don't live in Montreal, the web seems to be the only way they will ever see this video.

Anyways all this attention is a good thing. It definitely advertises the crap out of the movie. Maybe someone will create a Mockumentary about the whole situation. That would be funny.

Dude, I agree with most of what you just said, but clearly some people who have told him they wanted not to be in the movie still are.

And everyone's liberty stops where the others starts.

And clearly, some people have no respect for the law, and proceed even when prompted not to. This turns a hero into a Zero, and well. It was asked for.

IMHO.

Why do you call people that didn't want to be in the movie paranoid and self-absorbed? Isn't that a little harsh? They don't want to be associated to something that is a little more official than a random youtube video. They're uncomfortable with this. Not paranoid. And it's their right!

"Chances are if you didn't want to be in the movie, Antonino would have not put you in the movie."

I've heard of quite a few people that asked him not to be in the movie, only to find their request ignored. If you take a look at the "POLA : The movie" thread (HERE : [ www.rave.ca ] ), he doens't give ONE straight awnser. In fact he ignores most questions and posts random pics instead.

Now, if he had done this movie the right way, I would've totally supported it and found the balenblanc people asses for doing this. But there were too many creepy stories about this (remember how he stalked the pink popo and came uninvited to her house to interview her parents? hello, creepy situation???)... so I'm glad somebody gave this guy a reality check.

Yeah, and I gotta tell, Like when thios whole situation was spawned, even before the first second of footage was done, he has asked Pola to use her name, and she said NO right away, and he still did.

He agreed to change the name, but never did, and then produced TWO more documents with HER name on it.

So yeah, at this point, I'm kinda curious about the movie, but I have a feeling a hefty monetary set back just may send someone away for a while. It's one thing to brush off inquiring ravers, but the law? When it was served to you?

I'm mainly disapointed at Antonino for letting this fail get to this point.
I'm also sad to say that well, he had it coming.
In fact, he ordered it directly, 30 minutes or it's free.

Such a hurry is stoopid, can't you wait for 8 days?
Was that soooo much to ask.

My bet is that everybody knows this movie is never gonna be released after Nino fails at convincing lawyers and a judge that canadian citizen's right mean nothing because they're high. Or something equally flakey. So hell, let's have a pir8 showing...

Sad shit.
I know that the movie is prolly not that bad, it's just the attitude around it that sucks major balls.

Let it be clear I have no qualms with the movie itself since I have not seen it.
And That I would love to see it even if only to validate or (hopefully invalidate) my fears that we all have been used to an extent by an unscrupulous movie maker. Think about it, if he's back in Mehico, where he may distribute this, even re-hash it as raver porn or something, we cannot do anything about it.

See?

Why do you all think you guys are all in the movie... Most people who think they are in the movie are probably not even in the movie... There is only so much footage of people talking or mixing that you could have in a 2 hour video.

Just because you might have been in a YOUTUBE trailer does not mean you are in the DOCUMENTARY. People are really paranoid these days. You should all get laid a little more and stop worrying about what if this and what if that. If everyone thought that way, we would not progress.

And what is the right way, asking 50 million people to sign a paper. I don't think everyone in the PLAYGROUND movies I posted with Cameras are getting signatures to put that movie on YOUTUBE yet they do it and no one has a problem with it. Last time I heard, when people made a Documentary they didn't need all that stuff. If he were to sell the movie then I would think differently but from what I understand it's meant to be a free movie.

Whatever the case, I still support it, and will continue to support it. I'd glad someone has the balls to and energy to create something which promotes the Montreal Scenes which is exactly what this movie will do.

It's not meant to make anyone look bad, it's meant to make everyone look good.

As for the Pola and her parents, I don't know the whole story. But if you ever watched 60 minutes, you would know it's what people do when making a REPORT about something. I didn't see any videos of Pola's parents ever and there is nothing wrong with someone wanting to ask people a couple of questions. Get over yourselves. If people didn't interview people, a lot of the information in this world would not be known.

Also they made an injunction for "possibly" being in the movie. They don't know anything. Since their footage only made for about .01% of the trailers. I don't think they are a large part or are even in the movie and if they want to spend thousands of dollars for possibly having a 3 second clip in there, then they really have a lot of time and money on their hands. I guess in the end it's both good promotion for Playground and Pola - The Movie since more and more people seem to want to see what the movie is all about.

If your image is being used to promote ANYTHING, you have to give the person permission for it, either a signed document or say so at the beginning of the video so that he has a record to show if someone changes their mind later.

Dude, he showed up at 9 am, with no noticed, and didn;'t take any pictures or interviews because he was not allowed in. Not the first, second or third time he rang the doorbell AFTER he was asked to leave.

Seems like there is a little war going on in our society. People pro freedom of expression and people who are against it.

It was the first screening to get ideas for the final version. The playground people could have easily come, seen the movie and then made a decision if any of their content was in it which they would have wanted removed. Instead they wasted a bunch of people's time and a lot of their own money and either improve their reputation (to some people) or loose some of their reputation (to other people).

There will always be two sides to any story.

Also the law isn't stuck in stone. If it was we would be living in the stone age still. There is always room for improvement. I still believe Antonino's project is good for this city and the film is there to portray Montreal in a good light and all of our nightlife scenes in a good way also.

The HYPE is just bonus when it comes to advertising this stuff. I'd like to see someone go around and film people's reactions to all of this and put all those reactions online. DRAMA!

As for showing up at Pola's place to get an interview. You can't blame someone for trying. Has he come back since that day? He wanted an interview, he tried to get one, the person didn't respond and it was over with. Get over yourselves.

As for not regarding the court order. I think he followed the court order. The movie was not played. The lawyers made a little money and life goes on. If it's not played today, it will be played at some point. You people think too small. Worst case that happens is one of the people who have backups of the movie will leak it online somewhere and then the Lawyers can make some more money trying to figure out what to do with the whole situation.

In the end of any fight, the main winners are always the lawyers... The two sides can be content with wasting time and money in order to come up with some agreement.

And there will always be people against everything. People are against sending people to the moon, people are against eating animals, people are against slavery. But there are always people pro everything also. Some people might be against the Bal En Blanc event because obviously if 12 people are arrested at one party for selling drugs, there is a drug problem at their parties. Some people might say the people who were arrested were catering to a need and the people who were arrested were opportunist who thought they could make a quick dollar. There are always two sides to any story.

As for POLA the movie, from the people I see, there are more people who support the movie then don't support it. I will continue to support it.

MolocH: I think he meant you were in "POLA - The Music"... Which is a totally different movie. Did you say anything interesting on video? If you didn't chances are you are not in the movie. If you did, don't you think that the interesting things you said should be public. After all it's interesting. "POLA - The Movie" is people talking, not random music videos like the trailers or "POLA - The Music". I'm pretty sure almost every time Antonino was filming people talking he would ask them if they wanted to be in a movie. People knew what they were getting into. How many people here didn't know when he filmed them. I for sure knew after the first trailer came out which was just images.

Unless Tiesto was interviewed, I doubt he would show up anywhere in the movie. Some people do have interesting things to say about the whole nightlife sub culture. I'm sure Tiesto has some interesting things to say also, but this movie is about Montreal and it's scenes, not Holland.

i still think the movie should be called something else. i am not against the movie or anything, i think it's a nice project if done properly... but the girl, Pola, she obviously wants nothing to do with it. she can still be the muse of antonino for the movie, she can't do a thing about it, inspiration comes, that's all. but out of recpect, maybe he should change the name. Call her Aya, Kiki, Rose, Laeticia... lol. It won't change a thing to the movie's content, just the name.

Can't change the name now... Look at all the drama... That would be pointless... Remember all forms of advertising for the movie are good. Bad publicity is still good publicity...

And Pola's alias is "The Pink Popo"... POLA is just a name...

Keep the scene underground where it belongs.

Why dosn't Antonino just show the movie in his own home so for those who want to see it can go there and we can end all this nonsence once and for all.Beware, nobody under the age of 18.

/I rest my case.
