that's a bit much. everyone knows JS is sketchy. in fact, so did you. when you called me friday i told you to be careful. but the bottom line is people don't care. a party is a party.

I'm feeling hopefull right now..

How much more then 760$ did you request. That already seems like quite a lot of money.

Party WAS fun, and there was a great vibe going.

I know JS, don't know Milo or Orbit1. In fact, I only went into the main room for part of Deadfunk's (awesome) set.

Milo: if you or Orbit1 were partly paid and were promised other sums at a later date, I don't think it's fair for you to try and make it sound like you weren't paid at all.

Not that JS is a contender for the best promoter award. Then again, I still came out for his event, and I'm glad I did so.

So yeah, previous comment retracted, I'd suggest you settle this in private, and leave this thread for party reviews.
I'm feeling blue right now..

also if I can comment on the DJs, Orbit1 was boring as fuck. No punch, nothing new, it sounded like playing a not-so-good old cd in your stereo at home. I was impress he was one of the headliners

Even if it is a matter of opinion in the end, as an actual Happy Hardcore dj and enthusiast, I can attest: Orbit1's set sounded nothing like an old cd, had plenty of punch and energy and contained many upfront and exclusive tracks. The people dancing seemed to agree with me very much. Having him as a headliner in Montreal is an honor, and for him and Milo not to get paid is a shame.

That being said, I still want to thank J.S. and Cya for throwing a great party!
I'm feeling motivated right now..

it's not a question of them not getting paid, it's that they didn't get paid enough. but Orbit1 seemed fine with the whole thing.

i've had much bigger names come here for much less ca$h, and they were happy and grateful, and so was i, and so were the ravers.

for the record, no one told me i couldn't get paid 'cause they had to pay the headliners, but i know goddamn well that that's how it is. don't pretend for one second that if the locals are underpaid it's not because the headliners are asking for too much.. (i know js would've paid me if he had turned a profit, and he might still pay me regardless - then again, who gives a fuck about money!?)

what didn't help was that the venue owners are pretty much con artists, and were also asking for way more than they deserve, also at the last minute.

decent people under shitty circumstances calls for sympathy and understanding.

after all the horror stories i've heard and seen, i really don't think this was nearly as scandalous.

( too bad a little international drama is ruining a perfectly good review thread for a fine party )

peace out XD
I'm feeling you up right now..

760 bucks? damn man. I'm just curious. is that for one person or both?

so... let me get this right. they did indeed get 760 bucks, and wanted a substantial amount more, on top of that?? how much more? they mentioned it was more than 200, so basically asking in total for at least $1000.00 ??

fuck. that's a lot of money man. there are a lot of perfectly good producers and DJs who get paid peanuts - myself included.

I know a lot of fucking amazing, well known producers and DJs who would come play for me for much much much much less.. they would never insult me by asking some ridiculous fee that is going to bankrupt me.

I can see if you are some shit-hot top-ranked artist, with an international rep, and will pack a venue where ever you go... but if you are just one of the many talented locals in MTL or Toronto... be humble. caliss

too many greedy prima donnas.

I dont think the amount they were supposed to be paid should really be a matter of discussion.
If there was an agreed upon amount then that is what should be paid.
Dj's should NOT have to chase someone around to be paid.

Plain and simple if you can't afford to pay a headliner then you shouldnt have one.
I'm feeling sleepy right now..

Thank you Sickness!

Thank you for using me, and my contacts, to get in touch with an international hardcore headliner, and then fuck them over.

That makes me look bad. Nobody makes me look bad but me.

You're dead to me J.S. Don't call me. Don't message me. I'm never playing for you ever again, I'm not your friend, as far as I'm concerned, you don't exist. And I'll be telling the entire Canadian Hardcore Collective the same thing, as well as any international hardcore headliner you attempt to book.

Welcome to the blacklist you stupid son of a bitch.
I'm feeling strange right now..
