had fun, despite some of the cheese :p - lol as for Milo... : well, i played and didn't get paid either .. but i accepted that so that JS could afford to pay for his headliners .. had i known that someone was gonna be such a dick about it, i'd've said to JS: "gimme my cash, and if one of the headliners is wondering why 50$ is missing from his pay, tell him i have it" and then i would've told 'em: "yeah, i got my pay.. you want it? well, i'll roshambo you for it ... " :p montreal: the vibes are great, the ravers are awesome, and the promoters are broke .. deal with it. anyway, i was real happy to see a bunch of ppl i hadn't seen in a while. ext was great, fuzzboy was cool, and the locals all kicked ass! host1, melo, deadfunk, plecko, golgo13, etc ... thnx to cya and js for the party / having me play .. and host1 for the tokes ;) respek |

was a pleasure to meet and smoke some joints with some of you also if I can comment on the DJs, Orbit1 was boring as fuck. No punch, nothing new, it sounded like playing a not-so-good old cd in your stereo at home. I was impress he was one of the headliners Though, I enjoy seing Host One for the first time, N.a and Deadfunk who all 3 really kicked the place ass. |

| Coolness: 226250 | Well, I was on my way to the party, on the corner os st-charles and Charlevoix, Some cop car pulled up to me. They said I fit a description, would not tell me what for, but they showed me the APB. Descript was a punk looking dude with strapped boots and a Mohawk.
I wanted to ease things so I collaborated. While they were asking me questions, they realised I was high off my ass (t'wuz 11:30, I was heading out to a rave. Had a speed in me and half a cap of mdma). So they brought me in and I dare not bitch too much about it. At the station, when they put me in a cell to "sober up" They made me take the laces off my boots and empty my pockets. That's when they found a 7 of weed, 3 more speeds, 2 e, and like 5 caps of MDMA I tought I'd give/sell at the party. Seems that to the police, that was a pretty big catch. But yeah.. I have a court date for simple possesion coming. And about the APB, I wasen't the one. I'm okay about that. |

j'ai bien aimé mon party! spo_onami, tu rockais vraiment avec d'excellentes sélections. melodrastik tout autant malgré que je sois parti pendant ton set. excellentes mentions à deadfunk, arsenick qui a fait lever la foule et bass-ic. le reste du temps, je jasais ou je mixais. j'ai tout de même réussi à "bouncer" un moment sur le début du set à orbit1. dez_one et moi n'avons pas pu faire notre tag-team/vs. puisqu'il utilisait traktor scratch (vinyls) et moi les cdjs. le mixer n'avait que 2 entrées "line". la prochaine fois on s'organise différemment pour s'assurer de pouvoir faire comme prévu. les djs de la salle hardcore ont été enregistrés et pourront être entendus sur [ datagramradio.org ] d'ici une semaine. |

| Coolness: 34055 | Thank you for the translation. Ok, let's get some things straight. First and foremost, we never, ever requested that the promoter screw the other DJs so we could get paid. That's ridiculous! The amount remaining is a substantial amount, not just 50 bucks or 200 (which was never mentioned we get paid in two weeks). If it was only 50, we wouldn't care. Secondly, we didn't arrive 10 minutes before our set. We actually were in the city at 1030 then had to wait at the hotel for an hour from the promoter to arrive to sort out a hotel he lied about reserving. We then followed him around for the next 2 hours getting that sorted. We made several remarks about payment so he had plenty of notice that it needed to be paid upfront. In addition he lied to us throughout the party that it's coming and he was waiting for the owner. We finally left after our sets with the promoters promise of the remainder of the payment in the morning. I then racked up about 40 dollars in charges on my phone in texts and call charges while driving around the city after him for an hour as he kept telling us he was at different locations. Ultimately I received a text saying "hey, enjoy montreal, go home"
And yes, I would say the party was a success. It was busy all night, people seemed to be having a great time, the venue was sweet and the sound was good. It was made good by the people JS conned into playing for him and coming to his party, not of his own doing. Again, sketchy promoters like this are what kill a scene that would otherwise be incredibly strong and vibrant. |
