Then his promoter helped him launch his own line of live sets (Magik) which gave him popularity with the trance fans around the world. And then the Silence Remix with delirium which was huge hit...and that gave him global recognition. Hence even people who dont listen to electronic know Tiesto. I think thats a basic synopsis... In truth, Magik was put together rather well (selection, progression and mixing). And a lot of people really like a few of his produced songs... Suburban Train, When She Left for instance. Hence the reason he got the sell-out tag by die hard trance fans when he started releasing the ISOS, and his pop albums. And then some trance fans got irritated when people were like "I love trance - Tiesto creates the best songs - Lethal Industry!!!!" Tiesto was never really a great producer, but he use to be a talented DJ. So how he rose to fame: a mix of talent, business sense, hard work, luck, and knowing the right people...same as everyone who makes it, i suppose |

MC Mario too released a lot of mixes and a couple of original (for lack of a better word) songs. Unfortunately, Mario doesn't have anywhere near Tiesto's mix of talent, business sense, hard work, luck, and knowing the right people... And I haven't even mentioned underage girl fondling. LOL. |
