The "a" model dynaudios are active powered.
Also alien_zed, they are not 50 watts. They are 50 watts per driver (total 100 watts per speaker).. That's more than enough for the size. |

yo...
just a tip... if your dyne audio's are new... yer spossed to let em run at a low volume for like a day or something (check yer manule)... otherwise you run the risk of crackin' em if you turn em loud right outta the box.

You know, the guy at Steve's said the same thing but there was NOTHING to that effect in the manual... just says that if you play em for an hour, they'll sound noticeably better.

You really need to break in speakers.. A day is a good minimum, a week is the best.. Non-stop playing of something, anything, with a wide range of frequencies (like you wouldn't just feed it a test-tone non-stop)
When a newly-minted driver rolls off the assembly line it will typically not measure or otherwise perform as one of its well-broken in siblings does. In large part these differences arise owing to the fact that said driver’s spider (often crafted of a varnish-impregnated linen) is not as compliant as it will become once it’s broken in properly. Depending on number of mechanical factors relating to its design, construction and materials composition, a net post-burn in compliance increase on the order of 5% - 10% would not be unusual.

awesome, i've been playing them pretty regularly at a midlevel volume... I have blasted them twice to see how loud they can go, but that was only after 5 or 6 hours of uninterupted use at lower volumes...
Although they cost me a shitload, they sound amazing and really show you what's going on in your mix. Long Live Dynaudio Acoustics!

Yeah Dynaudio's are nuts, I use the bm15's at school, they are the most unforgiving bastards I ever heard. I am looking forward to using/reviewing your speakers :D |

I set up two shoe boxes to hold them at similar heights and distances from, they really sound awesome... like it makes music a pleasure to hear again.
