my ex-roommate had those speakers, and I think the sound was pretty good. I was going to buy those before getting the m1 520.

Do you know anything about the BX8a from M-Audio, the guy at Moog said they were the best for the price range. Update » AlienZeD wrote on Wed Nov 8, 2006 @ 2:23pm Yeah, they are 505$ with warrantee which is actually a better price than even eBay is offering... I am confused because i though someone said that M-Audio was a no-no for studio monitors

I've heard both and while I can't give a straight answer, the BX8's sounded better than the behringers. |

I had them demoed to me and they sounded really good, better than the RKR RP8's
They were a bit louder than the other systems too, not frequency wise but the guy actually had to turn the system down to get the same result from the BX8a's, is that a good sign or a bad one? Update » AlienZeD wrote on Wed Nov 8, 2006 @ 5:07pm btw, he mentioned that that was partially due to the fact that the BX8a's had a bigger woofer radius in general

One thing to be really careful with when buying moniters is to make sure that there all tested at the same level. Anything that is louder will inherintly sound better.

this thread is redundant... dude your wasting your time.. just buy something with a decent frequency response and start making choons... its all about ear training...the sooner you start the sooner youll get there. -K

so decent frequency response... do you mean actual capability in the specs or 'known to be flat frequency' characteristic?
