This version of ravewave was made by me and the communities by ian (which replaced my old communities script), the next will have been made by both of us if it's ever up. I would have been working on it this past month but I was working on an advertizing program for dotmate this past month.

I agree with RepentTokyo.

The part about not being able to work for a telco company a year after you terminate your contract with this one is just a scare tactic to keep you on their leash (or to keep you from actually making a better living with someone else). In my opinion the company will not win this in a legal battle as you have a right to make a living in the field you work in.

Now, if it is a client (that you have direct contact with) of your current company who is soliciting you, then that might be a different story, but if you just chose to quit and go work for the competition then there should be no problem. Otherwise no-one would ever be able to change jobs.

There is a big difference between being an employee and being a proprietor. An employee can work at as many places as he likes but a proprietor is bound to a fudiciary duty in order to protect investors. The fact is that Ian can work wherever he wants and the very same employee he wants to work on this dating site for offered him a job on another site completely unrelated to dating. He refuses to work on the other site(which would not be competition) because he is too lazy to make a new site. The fact of the matter is you haven't been doign any work lately at all and noah is always working. It is absolutely absurb for you to think you can just rake in 50% of the money and do NOTHING. I dunno where this idea that Noah is stopping you form working is comming from. You are a free man and always were. You can work for them you just have to stop working for dotmate. Plus he doens't give a shit if you work on ANY other project for any other employer. The idea of workign an a dating site and feeding off of his partners work is just riddiculous considering he can work on a million other prjoects if he wanted to. You say you can easily work on both but you're not at all so.. you can't just have everything from everyone. All fairness aside it's horrible business practice and it's not only your business that you can make those decisions, there is no reason why noah should let you use his hard earned work to make only you profit. He put half the work in but if it wasn't for him you would have never even known how to make money with this. That is why these laws are in place.

Everyone needs to stop using the word "fudiciary" since no one here knows what that word even means.

Ian's lack of business and legal knowledge is frightening (just based on what you've posted thus far). This is exactly where the phrase "a little bit of knowledge is a dangerous thing" evolved from. Ian's clearly got a tenuous grasp of his legal obligations, or is misrepresenting his side (but if you aren't making your side clear after 4 pages of script...). For your own personal sake, get a clue.

explain to me what he would bring him to court for. and how he would win. i don't see anything wrong with what ian is doing.
dotmate is a small fish in a big tank.
yahoo personals, lavalife, [ date.ca ] do you think they care if another fucking waste of a dating site opens?
no. they don't.
dotmate, and this other dating site that ian will be working for will not be competitors in the traditional sense. the internet is huge. there are countless losers out there willing to waste money on a dating site. sure, they're both dating services, but you think that Coke cares if RC cola opens a new bottling plant? no. theyre market share is secure.
ugh. there's so much rage in my head now i can't even formulate a coherent response. there are too many things i want to say.
noah, you're greedy.
ian, get yourself out of debt by any means necessary.

google Federal and Provincial laws on conflict of interest and just check out some of the legal precedents.Im not gonna write 20 pages on how and why.I've studied this before sideshow bob...so kindly shut the fuck up and get a haircut.
