funny how english people feel segregated against...
its quite ironic. English people would egg my parents in high school for being french in Toronto. Ontarians were quite effective in kicking us french canadians out and now they whine cause we want are fucking signs to be in French?? Tha fuck is that! Bouhouuu sniffle sniffle Learn french just like i was forced to learn english in TO in kindergarden. There were no french schools for me to go to and i was stuck with a bunch of kids whose language i didnt understand. Did i whine abouty it? You damn right i did, but i was 4 yrs old! Now you got teenagers and adults and freakin west-islanders who feel flustered because of 101. Wussies. French dudes have been running this country since the dawn of time, so you best bow down wiggas. |

i have no grudge, simply stating experiences
And i sincerely do not think that the english minority in Qc gets picked on nearly as much as the french do in the rest of canada (except in Atlantic Canada). Its really insulting to be called "frenchy". You can get called that here in Qc, but did you ever hear "hey look at the englishy"? |

BO! so things are changing, hein. It was originally french, then slowly started to become more english (like you said) then the french ppl said WTF? and decided to do something about it...thats how bill 101 was born. the end. |

You don`t go to india and then complain that all the product labels are written in indian.
Man speaking of india do you know how many languages they got going there? Let me tell you, more than two thats for sure. Hindi is the official but not the only. I got this from a website just now... Languages recognized by the Indian constitution 1. Assamese. 2. Bengali. 3. Gujarati. 4. Hindi. 5. Kannada. 6. Kashmiri. 7. Konkani. 8. Malayalam. 9. Manipuri. 10. Marathi. 11. Nepali. 12. Oriya. 13. Punjabi. 14. Sanskrit. 15. Sindhi. 16. Tamil. 17. Telugu. 18. Urdu. |

I went all over the place... Emploi Quebec said the only way to get a free french course, I'd have to quit my job and go on welfare (!)...
Or if I was an immigrant from another country... All of the other ones I've found cost money, and well..I'm trying to save my cash for university.. :S |

French is my first language, but i speak good english..well i understand everything i read and heard, and i think everyone understands when I speak it. some people think i have an accent but at least, i speak it. When I used to work at a survey company, since my english was good, my job was to called in Ontario asking stupid question about yellow pages..well, two times, people give me shit over the phone because they didnt want to speak to a fucking quebecer with an accent. You are supposed to keep your cool in this kind of job but the second time, i couldnt help myself but reply to that person by asking him if he knwe how to speak french, even with an accent. of course the answer was no so i give him shit for not even trying.
my point is, I dont mind if someone speaks only english as long as he respects me. I am not blaming the anglophone for the lost of french in quebec, because most of the francophone people i know cant even write a whole sentence without making any mistakes. This is where should start the preservation of our language. Then, i just want to remember osme people there is francophone in alberta too, and a few more over the rest of canada. I really think everyone should be bilingual in canada and that both french and english should be our national language. if i was to made a flyer, i would do it in both. and I really think that immigrants that come in canada should be forced to learn both too. i know those classes are free, they should also be mandatory. and I know a few high school that goves their program in both language every half a year, I think it si good too. The British won, we should be happy we are still speaking french, but I dont think it is a reason why we shoulg receive crap from anglophone. if a francophone doesnt respect you, dont say all francophone are stupid, that human being was stupid and you cannot judge on the base of language. some tought are better expressed in english, some in french, that would be a cultural blessing for everyone to know how to use both language I think. bleh, i'm done |
