 Coolness: 46855 | I have no problem with Bill 101, I think it's the minimum that can be donr to preserve french in quebec, and if fact goes to great efforts to make anglophones not feel threatened, what with the law about french only signs being changed, the right for people who have been educated in english to able to attend english schools, and the guarantee to anglophones health and social services in their language.
IMO all this is even unnessesary, the official language in Quebec is french so there isn't any need for English at all, in all other bilingual countries that i know of (Belgium, switzerland(to be honest this one im not sure about), Spain) the separation of the languages is absolout. When you're in Catalonia (Spain) the is no option to send your child to a spanish speaking school, because the catalan is the official language and thats the language that is instructed in , spoken , etc. |
