I find that statement funny because it is in my experience that when I sometimes don't remember a word in French and switch to English, or talk to a customer in English first and this customer happens to be an immigrant of some sort, 50% of the time they'll tell me off for not knowing French well enough and that we are in a French place and I shouldn't be talking to them in English. I'm not exagerating either and it damn well gets on my nerves. |

| Coolness: 339650 | if you're a french speaking in quebec and think that you'll be fine not learning english, you will have a *very* hard time finding a decent job. the provincial government knows that, that's why they try (terribly) to teach francophones to speak english.
it's pretty retarded actually, english people going through quebec's education system have it better than french people, since we get a good english education, and we learn french better than most french people learn english. this gives english people here the upperhand really.. which is better? knowing french and a bit of english, or knowing both well .. ? |
