Yeah, I just want to say that we are not coming into this to crush the other events. We will work with the other promoters to make the weekend rock for all of us. In the end, with a city like Montreal I don't think any of us should have to lose out - we're concentrating mainly on uplifting trance and hardcore/happycore, while all the other events seem to be targetting techno and hard trance.

Glad to see a lot of montreal people excited to be deelited :-). This year's show is going to be off the hook, with amazing music in two rooms plus a travelling freakshow including S&M, firebreathing, stiltwalking, etc. etc. etc. etc.

As always, peeps from montreal get in for 20$, but try and make it before midnight because we normally hit legal capacity around then and we don't want to have to stuff the place full of fashionably late montrealers!!!

I'll be giving away a ton of free cds at this show including my new set, Dragon:Live:NYE2003:Sydney.

Saturday Febuary 15th, 2002 - 9pm tp 9am

Party ended up turning out quite nicely. A big sorry to everyone that ended up waiting outside the venue for up to an hour - venue security were being very tight with everything and that slowed down things quite a bit.

Great sets from all the DJs, and an amazing turnout, we put 500 people through the door and it seemed like everyone had a great time once they defrosted! Thanks to everyone for putting up with some rude bouncers - just so you know we had two of them fired because of their actions: karma baby.

Amazing set from AOne, got the crowd going really well. Man, I hope your ride home was less eventful than the ride back to my house after the party - no 'the transmission is about to fall out the bottom of the car' moments, ya know?

Chris and I are talking about getting Unified back together and having Cloudskipper and Spree down for a big event sometime late jan early feb. So keep your ears open for that, folks!

Peace

I had a great time. HHC room was small, I would have put the dj INSIDE that little booth in the middle of the room and hung the decks from the ceiling!

A bit too much Nu-NRG/Hard-House styles in the trance room, but hey that's just not my preference, everyone else seemed to like it :-)

I had a fun time playing, and hope everyone enjoyed the set. (I was 7-8:30, after Hibernate) Hope you all enjoyed Shooting Star - trance version. Tipsy, did ya hear it? :-)

Ottawa kids came out and represented, we had 25 peeps come with us on the Road Trip to check this out.

Looking forward to the next big thing, as will the rest of my Ottawa peeps. Big up Asaph for a great time and a great party.

Saturday June 15th
Ottawa, Canada
Synergy, Wildlife, Urban Collective & House of Muralann present

ASCENSION
All Ages, All Night

Featuring

HIBERNATE >> LIVE PERFORMANCE >> OTTAWA PREMEIRE
Radikal / Fragrant / Smitten / Agitate Records / [ www.hibernate.net ]

With releases on some of the biggest trance labels this side of the Atlantic, Hibernate is on a fast track to becoming one of North America's top trance producers. Their tracks have been caned by the likes of Armin Van Buuren, Jon the Dentist, Joshua Ryan, and Paul Oakenfold to name a few.

Known for both hard hitting acid trance and melodic trance, Hibernate is capable of both uplifting and beating you down, often at the same time. Their track 'Tank Theme' has rocked raves across Canada with it's grinding sound, while 'Mane Sonatus' became an instant trance anthem across Europe.

We're proud to bring Hibernate to Ottawa for the very first time. Their live performaces are nothing short of amazing, and incorporate an amazing visual show along with full on studio equipment.

THE DEACON >> DEACON BOOMBASTARDIZER
Nightmare / Eclipse / Irritant Records UK - Toronto

One of the pioneers of Ottawa's hardcore scene, the Deacon has turned many a child to the dark side of the force with his unrelenting beats. While the hardcore hardcore scene in this city may wax and wane as time goes on, there will always be one constant truth: When the Deacon returns to his old stomping grounds, he'll aurally rape every one of you.

GRAHAM J VS THE COFFEE MAN >> ROUND 2
XVI / Spice Productions

One is the mild-mannered sys-op of [ XVI.com ] The other is a crude frenchman from Gatineau. While they may be best buds outside of the DJ booth, once they've been put in battle mode there's no telling what to expect - other than amazing music! We're proud to force two of Ottawa's best techno djs into the rematch everyone's been salivating for since their last encounter at Ready to Rumble 2.

DOC SAVAGE VS VH3
Synergy / Unified / The Deep Blue

The gloves are off as relative newcomer Doc Savage challenges Ottawa's favorite morning trance DJ VH3 to an all out battle for the future of epic trance as we know it. Well, perhaps the ramifications won't be as serious as that, but we'll let you be the judge as we let these two great djs take you higher than you've ever been before.

BUBBLECORE >> LIVE PERFORMANCE!
Children of the Damned

This guy spends so much time playing in Montreal that we're surprised he has the time to come out for an occasional Ottawa gig. Hard, happy, fast...unique! We don't really know how to classify his style of music, except to say that it kicks ass! Bubblecore has been playing his own tracks live at raves for the past few years, and NEVER dissapoints.

S.I.N.
Wildlife

If you've been partying it up in clubs around Ottawa these past few months, there's a very good chance that you've already heard this talented nrg trance DJ in action.

THE MIDDLE MAN
Synergy

Ottawa's only established happy hardcore dj - we suspect he's been killing anyone who challenges him, eating their hearts and bathing in urine. Regardless of his smell, this cat plays tracks that'll put a smile on your face faster than you can say cheese.

...AND MORE TO BE ANNOUNCED!!!

Hey everyone,

Just discovered this site (thanks for the post on XVI, Tipsy!), and think it's really cool.

Thought I'd share the news of a party we're doing here in Ottawa called Ascension, you can get all the information here:

[ synergy.xvi.com ]

Synergy was the company that did Tryptamine Dream as well as became half of Unified Productions to bring you all First Contact with Cloudskipper. This event looks like it's going to be awesome :).

Anyways, the site also contains a link to our internet radio station, which at the moment is dedicated to playing Ottawa DJ sets as well as sets by those appearing at our event.

Hope to talk to you all on the boards!
