The thing is that the koran unlike the bible was not written over many years it is supposed to come directly from god and was dicted by his arcangel.

I don't really understand the logic of this argument, it's like you read my post and thought you had something to say that could contradict it when in fact it still comes down to exactly the same thing. It doesn't matter whether it was handed down from god or not, the fact is it details stories and those stories involve other people than god and it is extremely clear that there are people saying things in these stories besides god even if these stories were told by god. I just quoted you but I certainly didn't say what you said.

Maybe I should not but I cannot help but think about the good old joke "My religion is a religion of peace, stop saying otherwise or else I will kill you!!!"

I don't get how that's a funny joke. I never heard anyone say that and if I did I'd understand completely. The solution is stop saying otherwise, it's not hard, just accept other people's opinions. It's not for you to tell other people what THEY believe in.

Anyways I'm really gay for responding to your post at all.

On another note I'd just like to say I consider this video terrorism in itself. His montage of photos makes me think of brainwashing except it's not even done well enough to brainwash a knewt. The passages on their own like that can have a horrible effect but I don't think it'll do much since most people believe it's a relgiona of violence already and next to the rest of his video well.. it's kind of obvious what the dude wants u to believe. If I went through this board and picked out all of the stupidest and most selfish things that you(whoever is reading this) had written I would not come out with an accurate depiction of you.

Well, i guess you should read and go out a little more, but that okay, I mean being hateful without good reason toward a group of people is still worst than deciding they are good and not seing any issues they have...but not by much.

The guy obviously is picking what he put in that video, but he still chose events that really happen and discarding them like you do is almost pathetic, and if you have never heard of

"Maybe I should not but I cannot help but think about the good old joke "My religion is a religion of peace, stop saying otherwise or else I will kill you!!!" maybe you should ask the family of the people who got killed in the name of these so called religion of peace (pick the one you want) like the people who got killed after the publishing of the caricatures or the one who died in David Koresh religious group or any of your choosing they might change with time.
You might also want to talk with the palestinian who got displaced because another religious group believed the GOD gave them a teritory and that it was theirs by right and that they can do whatever they want to defend it even if it mean killing thousand of palestinians.

And yes it matters if it was given by God or was written by someone else because the word of God is LAW if you are religious even if god is making is point through stories...

And by the way, I am not gay, but what up with the gay bashing, i mean, i might be wrong but

Anyways I'm really gay for responding to your post at all.

sound pretty much like a barely veiled homophobic comment to me...so congratulation for the accepting other people opinions

The thing is that the koran unlike the bible was not written over many years it is supposed to come directly from god and was dicted by his arcangel. People should stop saying that there are religion of peace.

Religions by definition separate humanity in believers and unbelievers (anyone who does not share the same religion) and wars are always the result of devision or schism between subgroups of humanity. Religion cannot bring peace to mankind because it is before being anything else an agent of division of the US and the THEM, even if some of the message written in the so called holy books might be of peace, religions cannot bring anything but devision, violence and wars.

Maybe I should not but I cannot help but think about the good old joke "My religion is a religion of peace, stop saying otherwise or else I will kill you!!!"

LA JOYA — Authorities suspect a 2-year-old boy who died with a fractured
skull was accidentally crushed by a morbidly obese relative.

Hidalgo County Justice of the Peace Bobby Contreras, who pronounced the
child dead Tuesday night, said that investigators believe the woman fell
on the child.

"It didn't look like there was any foul play from what I saw," he said.

An autopsy was scheduled for Friday afternoon with the official cause of
death to be released Monday.

Hidalgo County Sheriff Lupe Trevino, who termed the death "suspicious,"
said he would wait for the official cause of death before deciding whether
to file charges.

The child's identity has not been released.

Two weeks ago Gary Gygax died, today another great writer left us...

By Simon Gardner

COLOMBO (Reuters) - Pioneering science fiction writer and visionary Sir
Arthur C. Clarke, best known for his novel "2001: A Space Odyssey" and
his towering influence on the genre, has died in Sri Lanka. He was 90.

"He has passed away. He had a cardio-respiratory attack," said Rohan de
Silva, his personal secretary.

British-born Clarke wrote more than 80 books and hundreds of short
stories and articles during a career that spanned some seven decades.

In the 1940s Clarke predicted that man would reach the moon by the year
2000, an idea that experts dismissed as nonsense.

When Neil Armstrong landed in 1969, the United States said Clarke
"provided the essential intellectual drive that led us to the moon."

On his 90th birthday in December 2007, the wheelchair-bound Clarke
recorded a farewell message to his friends, saying in part that he
would have liked to see evidence of extraterrestrial life during his
lifetime.

Clarke was born in Britain on Dec 16, 1917 and served as a radar
specialist in the Royal Air Force during World War Two.

He became involved in the British Interplanetary Society after the war,
where he proposed an idea for geostationary satellites as telecommunications
relays.

But Clarke remains best known perhaps as the author of "2001: A Space
Odyssey", which director Stanley Kubrick made into a film in 1968.

I always had issues with the Forgotten Realms settings, I guess mostly because I did not like Ed Greenwood way of writing , but also because he was with the others that developted the Forgotten Realms settings part of the people who "backstabbed" Gygax and stole TSR from him and with TSR, the control of the D&D franchise. In my opinion that when D&D lost a lot of its magic

I think that there is not ONe good way to do do gaming, I had fun with very relax groups that were joking and saw gaming more as a relaxed session where being serious was not even conceivable and with other groups for which gaming was serious business, both vision were good in my opinion, the experience on the other hand was hugely different from one to the other. As for Gary Gygax I must say that I always liked the way he was describing his old gaming sessions in the Colonel's Corner in the piedpiper publishing forum [ piedpiperpublishing.yuku.com ] ( a forum that was (and still is) mostly used by people who relished in old style D&D gaming). Greyhawk was the campaign I played the longest as a player so I guess that is another way that Gygax influenced the gamer I am today (even if the campaign I GM the longer was a Shadowrun one)

That said it was almost one month ago since the last time Gary posted on that Forum and I will miss reading him and the tales of the old adventures of Bigby ,Mordenkeinen, Tenser, Rary and the others.

You may have been mad, Zagyg, but you will be for many geeks you will always wait for us in the deepest corners of Castle Greyhawk...the one adventure you just could not finish cause even if you talked of this adventure as the greatest one, some adventures like some stories should never be finished.

Farewell Colonel

ISLAMABAD (Reuters) - Pakistani Internet service providers may have inadvertently blocked the
popular YouTube Web site across the world at the weekend when they restricted local access to
the site, a telecommunications official said.YouTube said on Monday that many users around the
world could not access the site for about two hours because traffic had been routed according
to erroneous Internet protocols. The source of the problem was a network in Pakistan, YouTube
said in a statement.Pakistan ordered local Internet service providers to block access to the
site because it was running material insulting to Islam, a Pakistani industry official said on Sunday.

A government telecommunications official said the initial order to restrict local access
might have mistakenly affected users around the world. The blocking of the Web site within
the country might have mistakenly affected its worldwide service, briefly," said the official,
who declined to be identified. But there had been no intention to block the site worldwide,
he said. Attempts to access YouTube in Islamabad on Sunday were met with a generic error message
saying the site was unavailable. A spokesman for the state telecommunications regulator, the
Pakistan Telecommunication Authority, said on Tuesday the order had been lifted after Youtube
removed the content deemed insulting to Islam.

"YouTube had been asked to remove the link, which they did, and we have subsequently ordered
the unblocking of the site," the spokesman said. The authority had earlier justified its order
to block access in Pakistan saying it was necessary to avoid unrest in the overwhelming Muslim

country of 160 million people. "It has the potential to cause more unrest and possible loss of
life and property across the country," the authority said in a statement on Monday, referring
to the material.

Publication of caricatures of the Prophet Mohammad published in Danish newspapers in 2005
sparked widespread anger and deadly protests in several Muslim countries, including Pakistan.
Protests have been held in recent weeks in Pakistan after the republication of one of the
cartoons. On Tuesday, about 150 students staged a rally in the eastern city of Multan city
and burned Danish and U.S. flags to express anger over the reprinting of the cartoon.

Triplets born to teenager - again
By Daniel Schweimler
BBC News, Buenos Aires

A 16-year-old Argentine girl has given birth to female triplets - for the second time.

The girl, named only as Pamela, had her first set of female triplets aged 15, having first
given birth to a son when she was just 14.All seven children were born prematurely but without
any kind of fertility treatment. While doctors say the three newborns and their mother are well,
the case has sparked debate across Argentina. In bars and cafes, as well as the letters pages of
newspapers, there has been widespread criticism of Pamela's alleged promiscuity.

Seeking more

Pamela's family already receives help from the provincial authorities, which donated
land and built them a house when the first set of triplets was born.Pamela's mother, who cleans
houses to support her daughter and rapidly increasing number of grandchildren, says they will
now seek more assistance from the government for the new additions to the family. Some
Argentines are arguing that perhaps what Pamela needs is more advice on contraception. The
teenager, who will be 17 on Monday, comes from the remote town of Leones in the central
Argentine province of Cordoba.
