Comment: Vinnie Jones is always cool, and the movie was visually impressive, the gore scenes are memorable but sadly the story has flaws that made this movie good but far from what it could have been.

Not sure if you are serious or not about death threats, but in the case this is real, then the only thing you should do is call the police. Death threats are a very serious things that even if, I for one does not appreciate your Board trolling, I don't think anyone here deserves that...so I seriously suggest you call the cops.

however since, like most people here, I have some difficulty assessing the veracity of your claims and seriously hope that no one here is stupid enough to do that, I'll say that only you can decide what to do with these hypothetical threats.

if you are joking about that, you are seriously stupid. If you are not, then someone else, possibly on this board has serious issues.

That said I do agree that some words are used a little too carelessly on this board ( I am not saying that these words should never be used, but like anything else people should always think of the effect their words and actions can have on other people). I believe that pretty much everything that divides is bad, may it be religion or racism.

There should not be a US and THEM, only a US that includes both

Even if you have very valid points Mayday, your attitude and the way you antagonize the rest of the people on this board with your holier than you attitude does them disservice.

I think that racism is racism, like a whip or a gun changing hand does not stops being a weapon. A poor kid should not be treated differently depending if his skin is white, black, green or whatever, to do otherwise is plain racism and should be treated as such. Discrimination is never positive in anyway, do anyone believe that the person not getting a job because of a "positive" discrimination is not going to be resentful if someone get a job he was more qualified to have because their great-great-great-great-grand father were treated unfairly. It is also very sad because the people who are qualified and get the job, will be seen as having obtained their job because of discrimination and will be seen as being less competent than they really are, in the end only the people who got their job because of the discrimination and not of their skills will benefit from that racism everyone else loses.

I believe that judging people by their "races" is misguided, every day people who have the potential to become geniuses are born in every countries and in every ethnicities, how they are raised and schooled makes a lot more differences on what kind of people they will become than the colours of their skin.

This is almost as bad as saying that someone cannot be homophobic because they are a woman...in my opinion it just does not makes any sense,, but someone told me that on this board...)

Unfair discrimination will always be bad and bring more hatred

On a related subject what are the opinion of the people on this board on what happened in Zimbabwe ( I am talking about the confiscation of the white owned land by the government of Robert Mugabe. There are different ways to stop injustice, Mandela did it in South Africa, he stopped discrimination and brought peace to his country, Mugabe decided to use his own kind of racism and almost destroyed Zimbabwe by himself.

RACISM IS NEVER GOOD

NEWS UPDATE

Investigators match severed foot to missing man

ROD MICKLEBURGH

Globe and Mail Update

July 18, 2008 at 9:09 PM EDT

VANCOUVER — Police are one step closer to solving the puzzle of the washed-up,
severed feet.

Forensic investigators have now connected one of the five feet found at
scattered locations along the B.C. coast to a specific individual, RCMP
spokesman Corp. Pierre LeMaitre confirmed yesterday.

The officer told CTV News that the foot belonged to a depressed man who has
been missing. Police have ruled out foul play, he added.

The identification came just a week after police publicized photos of the
sneakers that contained the five severed feet, all found within a 10-month
period, in a mystery that has attracted world-wide interest and media coverage.

Corp. LeMaitre said the identification was made through matching “familial DNA”,
and family members of the victim are being contacted. The identity of the dead man
is being withheld.

Meanwhile, in yet another bizarre development in the intriguing case, a coroner
on the picturesque San Juan Islands in the Strait of Georgia disclosed that a
footless body was discovered 16 months ago on the eastern shores Orcas Island,
the most northern of the American island chain.

But despite the torrent of publicity over the five severed feet in recent weeks,
coroner Randall Gaylord said that he did not advise British Columbia investigators
about the discovery until Thursday.

“I certainly could have made an inquiry sooner. No question about that,” said
Mr. Gaylord, “but I never knew enough about the missing feet, what size or type
of shoe they were in, or whether they were men or women.

“And who do you contact, and what are you going to find out?”

A possible connection between the detached feet found in B.C. and the Orcas Island
footless body came to him just recently when he was reading a newspaper about the
case in his kitchen. “There was a report of shoes with no bodies. And I thought, gee,
I have a body with no shoes. I wonder if they could be related,” Mr. Gaylord recounted.

The first foot was discovered Aug. 20 last year on Jedediah Island. Six days later,
a second foot was found washed ashore on Gabriola Island.

Subsequent foot discoveries were made on Feb. 2, May 22 and June 16. All were found
inside sneakers, sparking speculation that the feet remained buoyant until they drifted
onto various beaches because of the footwear's low density.

Police have said that none of the feet – four right and one left – appear to have been
intentionally severed, but likely detached during natural degeneration.

Two of the feet are from the same person, and one is a woman's, according to forensic
investigators.

Mr. Gaylord said the body discovered by a hiker on a remote beach of Orcas Island was
mostly skeletal remains. It was missing the right arm, right hand, left hand and both feet.

No foot bones were found near the remains, the coroner said. However, sheriffs did
discover an argyle sock and a slip-on shoe close by, he added.

Subsequent forensic work assessed the dead person as a male, about five foot, 10 inches
tall, of white, Hispanic or mixed Asian race, who died between two and 12 months before
being found, Mr. Gaylord told the Globe and Mail.

“There was no indication of violence.”

He said there are excellent dental remains, including several gold inlays. “He had the
means to have some nice dental work done...but slowly, this became a cold case.”

Jeff Dolan of the B.C. Coroners' Service said the service and police are taking the Orcas
Island discovery seriously.

“Obviously, this is going to generate an intense amount of interest to our investigators....
A number of waterways in B.C. do run into Washington State,” Mr. Dolan said.

CAIRO (Reuters) - Nearly two-thirds of Egyptian men admit to having
sexually harassed women in the most populous Arab country, and a majority
say women themselves are to blame for their maltreatment, a survey showed
Thursday.

The forms of harassment reported by Egyptian men, whose country attracts
millions of foreign tourists each year, include touching or ogling women,
shouting sexually explicit remarks, and exposing their genitals to women.
"Sexual harassment has become an overwhelming and very real problem
experienced by all women in Egyptian society, often on a daily basis,"
said the report by the Egyptian Center for Women's Rights.

Egyptian women and female visitors frequently complain of persistent sexual
harassment on Egyptian streets, despite the socially conservative nature
of this traditional Muslim society.

The behavior could have repercussions on Egypt's tourism industry, a major
foreign income earner, with 98 percent of foreign women saying they had
experienced harassment in the country, the survey said.

The survey of more than 2,000 Egyptian men and women and 109 foreign women
said the vast majority of Egyptians believed that sexual harassment in Egypt
was on the rise, citing a worsening economic situation and a lack of
awareness or religious values.

It said 62 percent of Egyptian men reported perpetrating harassment, while
83 percent of Egyptian women reported having been sexually harassed. Nearly
half of women said the abuse occurred daily.

Only 2.4 percent of Egyptian women reported it to the police, with most
saying they did not believe anyone would help. Some feared reporting harassment
would hurt their reputations.

"The vast majority of women did nothing when confronted with sexual harassment,"
the survey said, adding that most Egyptian women believed the victim should
"remain silent."

Some 53 percent of men blamed women for bringing on sexual harassment, saying
they enjoyed it or were dressed in a way deemed indecent. Some women agreed.

"Out of Egyptian women and men interviewed, most believe that women who wear
tight clothes deserve to be harassed," the survey said. It added most agreed
women should be home by 8 p.m.

The survey said most of the Egyptian women who told of being harassed said they
were dressed conservatively, with the majority wearing the Islamic headscarf.
The harassment took place on the streets or on public transport, as well as
in tourist destinations and foreign educational institutions.

MOSCOW (Reuters) - Dozens of partygoers at an outdoor rave near Moscow last week have lost partial vision after a laser light show burned their retinas, Russian health officials said on Monday.

Moscow city health department officials confirmed 12 cases of laser-blindness at the Central Ophthalmological Clinic, and daily newspaper Kommersant said another 17 were registered at City Hospital 32 in the centre of the capital.

Attendees at the July 5 Aquamarine Open Air Festival in Kirzhach, 80 km (50 miles) northeast of Moscow, began seeking medical help days after the show, complaining of eye and vision problems, health officials told Reuters.

"They all have retinal burns, scarring is visible on them. Loss of vision in individual cases is as high as 80 percent, and regaining it is already impossible," Kommersant quoted a treating ophthalmologist as saying.

Attendees said heavy rains forced organizers to erect massive tents for the all-night dance party, and lasers that normally illuminate upwards into the sky were instead partially refracted into the ravers' eyes.

"I immediately had a spot like when you stare into the sun," rave-attendee Dmitry told Kommersant.

"After three days I decided to go to the hospital. They examined me, asked if I had been at Open Air, and then put me straight in the hospital. I didn't even get to go home and get my stuff," he said.

Cosmic Connection, promoters of the Aquamarine rave, were unreachable and did not list contact numbers on their Web site.

Industry Web site [ www.laserfx.com ] said focused laser light can cause eye damage almost instantly.

The owner of a Moscow laser rental company told Reuters the accidental blindings were due to "illiteracy on the part of technicians."

"It was partly the rain, but also partly the size of the laser. Somebody set up an extremely powerful laser for such a small space," said Valentin Vasiliev, who said his company did not provide the Aquamarine lasers.

Woman sues Victoria's Secret claiming thong injury
Fri Jun 20, 2008 8:26am EDT

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - A woman who says she was hurt by her thong panties when a metal
clip flew off and hit her in the eye has sued Victoria's Secret, saying in a TV interview
on Thursday that the injury caused her "excruciating pain."

Macrida Patterson, a 52-year-old Los Angeles traffic officer, told NBC's "Today" show that
she suffered cuts to her cornea from the small piece of metal that had been used to secure
a rhinestone heart onto the blue thong.

"I was putting on my underwear from Victoria's Secret and the metal popped in my eye. It
happened really quickly. I was in excruciating pain. I screamed. That's what happened,"
Patterson told NBC.

Patterson's lawyer Jason Buccat, who also appeared on the "Today" show, said the metal
staple causes "severe damage" to her cornea that required a topical steroid.

The product liability lawsuit, which was filed on June 9 in Los Angeles Superior Court
and first reported on the Smoking Gun Web site, seeks unspecified damages.

A spokeswoman for Victoria's Secret, which is operated by Limited Brands Inc, could not
immediately be reached for comment.
