Faith doesn't take courage; it requires you be a coward and hide from reality. It's a crutch for people who just can't handle reality and need to sugar-coat things because they're too weak to take things as they are. Faith is the illusion of strength to cover up your fears of reality, much like a chihuahua barking at a rottweiler to try and scare it off; when you look closely at that tiny motherfucker, barking and acting all tough, you see that it's just scared of everything and shaking, and the barking is just it's feeble attempt at keeping up it's illusion that everything is going to be alright. Blind optimism is just fucking stupid; we're NOT going to be alright. Diseases are mutating and getting resistant to all treatment. We've got a mass of plastic and garbage larger than Texas floating out in the ocean, contaminating plankton and fish. We've got wars and death and murder over who's imaginary friend is more real than the other's, or who's two thousand year old story book dictates the right way to live. There are people out there like Josef Fritzl that lock their daughters up in the basement and rape them for 24 years. We've got cops beating up 15 year old retarded kids because their shirts are un-tucked. We've got people who believe a 17 year old when he says he was driving the speed limit, lost control of his car on a clear, dry road and uprooted a tree, resulting in the death of a girl. We are FUCKED, and there isn't anything anyone can do about it anymore short of nuking the whole ball of mud and starting over from scratch. |
