Dance, converse, relax, have a drink, and enjoy the pure satisfaction of just being there at that moment in time & space, the fact that you're partaking in a unique situation, a social taboo (raves!), a special moment is history :) |

| Coolness: 166680 | yeah, a bit before, but now nothing stops me from looking around, whether it's at the dj sliding in a mix, or a cute (single:P) girl, or the design on the floor. it doesn't really matter what people see you looking at, as long as it's not their girlfriend's tits :P
besides, sometimes it's a good thing that people are aware of you, but mostly they just see as just another nondescript person in the room, just like you probably see them. if small parties and cramped areas bother you, (i live in a 2.5 app. so i'm used to it) then check venues and attendance lists (the calendar page for each event has an attendance list of who's going to the party). if the party has upwards 0f 150 people on the list, chances are it's a big party in a big venue (unless it's in Verdun lol), so you can ghost your way through the night w/out worrying about who's around. and there are some outdoor parties too in the summer, which might suit your needs... -if you always end up in small cramped areas w/out any dark corners, you're going to the wrong parties! :D |

i just thought of something, there's a party in March, called Bal en Rose Masque ( [ www.rave.ca ] ) ...almost everyone is supposed to wear masks (and pink:P), so if you were looking for an event where you can be a little more anonymous and not worry about judgmental types, it's the perfect party for you! When you're masked, everywhere is a dark corner :P |

 Coolness: 38905 | I went to some very special intentional dance gatherings in Vancouver where there were (theoretically) no drugs (which includes no smoking and no alcohol). There was NO TALKING in the dance hall, everyone communicated through movement, eye contact, etc. It was a life changing experience for me. Now one of my favorite things at parties is that connection when dancing around with one or more other people I don't even know, making eye contact and consciously feeling "it" together. I think that after the first time you push yourself over that barrier, it becomes so much easier.
Please don't ever take speed. I'm a metalhead and I've been too shy so far to go out to any shows in Montreal. Would you take me to one? I like dark types especially - death metal, speed metal, operatic/gothic/symphonic/folk. ---------------- N.a. - Weed is a drug. Acknowledging that doesn't make it any worse or better. It's like when people say that alcohol is not a drug. Of course it is... but that doesn't make it good or bad. Nice set last night by the way :) I got in some good flailin'. databoy - :P |

For symphonic, I love classical (some Opera too) music but not blended in with metal. Vegannibal you'll become my muse if you mush, I'll even wipe your nose if it bleeds after. :D My favorite is GRINDCORE !!! I also love Goregrind and Pornogrind. Recently there's a special place in my hearth for black metal, expecially since I heard Anaal Nathrakh (must hear Do Not Speak). Anyone here want to hang with me at a metal show, I'll be more than happy, I'm already giddy at the prospect of going to a metal show ! |

What is pornogrind like? I've never heard of it before. I like grindcore though. I'm open to pretty much anything, even cheesy abnoxious power metal if the musicianship is really good :) Let me know when something is going on, I'm can be pretty shy around other metalheads for some reason. Maybe helping someone else get over their scene nerves will help get you over your own scene nerves? |

I have non-vegan friends too though and as long as they don't post some insane hate article or express an actual enjoyment from hurting animals, then it's easy to get along. In all honesty I don't really like talking about that stuff unless someone asks me about it (or starts shit in forums :P).
Holy shit man I just went to check out pornogrind and based on the names of the songs alone, I know I could never go for it. It's, heh, against all my morals (except for sex). Er... hurray for AR death metal/grindcore? lol I'm sure there are some forms of metal we can both agree on for going and seeing ^^ I also like EBM. I like most forms of electronica. There are hardcore nights at Saphir and a few other clubs/bars too. |
